Not By Luck! -There’s no lucky number, person, rabbit’s foot, four-leafed clover, horoscope, and so on. There are blessings, favor, hope and yes we can find these words in the Bible, but not luck or lucky. God and luck don’t go together. God has a purpose for this world and there is no event in our lives that is not in some way a part of that plan. Romans 8:28 says “All things (good and bad) work together for good those who love God. Instead of saying ‘good luck perhaps we could use the words ‘all the best” or ‘God Bless and pray for them instead. -I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy. -Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things. -Isaiah 45:7 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD. -Proverbs 16:33
