I think this might be the first time I've not heard of either book!

I might give An Unkindness of Magicians a shot, still trying to get caught up with the old BOTMs, but am making progress with that.

I've always wondered what makes novellas so expensive. The past is red sounds interesting but for a 155 page book at £8.07 on Amazon for the kindle edition that seems alot to me. I'll try and get to An Unkindness of Magicians though, I'm not that into urban fantasy but I like the she doesn't want to help the system, she wants to destroy it line in the description!

That's definitely expensive. Most people are only willing to pay a dollar for a novella ebook.

I was talking to some people at a writing conference or something a while back, and they said longer books are becoming more popular as people want to "get their money's worth" for audiobooks, which are on the rise.
