Have any of you lovelies read a good pandemic book, preferably MM romance, but not necessary? And preferably 300+ pages? I've got it for another challenge and I haven't found anything that really interests me.

I was thinking either Nora Phoenix's Ignite series or Keira Andrews' Kick at the Night series.

Loved Kick at the Darkness! I’ve got a few things to read before I can starting Fighting the Tide.

I also love this mix of spell and scavenge. If I book doesn’t have good food, I count letters. For 2 ys just now. Not much beyond protein bars in the zombie apocalypse. How you doin’?

I have to look that up ... but I think the Metahuman files would work as well as should the magi account
both series I love ... so maybe if you need more ;)

I just finished Irish Charm and it has a bunch of food, but it's under 300 pages - should I wait to add it till later in the month?

I haven't read a single book with good food this week. I've been trying to stick with 300+ and have got some good letters... but I'm spelling rather than scavenging. What are you reading?

Mine havent had much food.in them either .
Ive been adding books worth 4 items as well , we are.almost half way through month and not half way through the 100 books we can use

Thanks for that, Janine--I've been reading a fair few of those for my plague challenge, knocking out the tasks with the shortest books I can. But I always mark! I'll add some soon.

and I'm currently lost in Chosen. I couldn't stay up last night to read any more... I literally blew off everything and read all day yesterday.

I added Chosen because you mentioned it elsewhere, and it's in the queue for sooner rather than later. It's been awhile since I read a good thriller.

ETA: I'm a huge Elsborg fan, but haven't read anything but MM from her yet.

Kirsten - just so you know, Chosen has some really dark themes including total non-con sex, but it isn't gross vag sex, I promise. She glosses over it well, and doesn't spend any time describing it. I was also holding off on books that were shorter (like 200-300 pages) so will add a bunch tomorrow. And then some longer ones. Sorry for the wait on those! I don't know why it overwhelms me every month

it's a lot of hunting and picking to find those characters' names for the spellout

I can do dark, as long as its not exploitive and I know it going in! I read several reviews before adding it. I can also DNF!

I have a really hard time not finishing a book, I just keep hoping I'll get what the author is trying to say - and I trust too much that there's a method to their madness.

Just an example... Jake in Josh Lanyon's Adrien English series. I'd have loved to punch him in the crap-lousy face about a hundred times, but in the end he finally redeems himself. 😂

I will forever stand up to say that Jake is complete trash 😂 The Holmes and Moriarity series is far superior and I don't know why most people love Jake & Adrien so much.

Um, haven't read any Lanyon except a short in an anthology and Fair Game.

I can't get over her pretending to be a gay man. Ditto that "more heat" writer.

I've been a beta reader for her for years K, and she was "out" as a female author to us - it was her publisher who urged her to do it to begin with, and they were the ones to out her. They convinced her that being female would destroy her career before it began.

She was miserable over the whole thing.

That’s really good to know. I didn’t love Fair Game, so I didn’t think I was missing much. But I do love MM thrillers.

Ys & Ps seem to be our 'hard to find'letters this time round 🙄🙄..so im going to change a few of the ones that havent been started

yes, I noticed that too Janeylou. If I can find a book with 8 characters who all have a last name beginning with the letter "Y" then we'll be all set 😂

I just added 2 Ys, and I have another 2 I can add when I finish the book! Also added a P and am looking for those. I'm reading LOOOONG space books with not much food but lots of names, so I've got options.

Computer problems suck - I agree.
I have a deal with HP so they fix everything, but sometimes I have to send the laptop to them, sometimes they do it while I'm on the phone. Either way it's time consuming and a PITA.
