Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments I'm just starting this one tonight. I've never read a book by Hill before, but my friend's swear I will love his books, especially this one. I have two other of Hill's books added for later on in my list.

I am also a huge fan of Stephen King, though I do not intended to base or judge Hill's books on the work of King, but I am hopeful that a strong imagination runs in the family.

I'm pumped for this book adventure!

I've been reading King since I was about 10 and I absolutely love Joe Hill. I honestly like his books better. He's very "no holds barred"and Heart Shaped Box is one of the only books to actually scare me. Good choice :)

Emily Ooh, yeah, Heart-Shaped Box was the first book by Hill that I read and it was seriously creepy. I think he's an excellent horror writer. He has a style that is very different from King, so hopefully you'll enjoy him - King is one of my favorite authors, but Joe Hill can hold his own!

Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments Laura and Kate, after reading your comments I am even more excited about this. I didn't make it too far before I fell asleep last night, but I found out The first few chapters intriguing.

Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments I finished today and it was sooooooo good! I hope the rest of Hill's work is just as good.

Happy to hear you liked it!

NOS4A2 is fantastic. I think I liked Heart Shaped Box more but it was more the storyline than the actual writing that I preferred. Horns is on my list but I haven't read it yet. It seems a little odd but I'm hopeful since it's by Hill.
