I am new to the group but not new to Goodreads. I have gone in and out of reading but this summer it has really taken hold--have read over 22 books in the last couple of months. I am a 61 (in two weeks) teacher in an urban NYC high school. Reading has become an important form of escape for me. While I am partial to historical fiction and magical realism, I have been reading many different genres, from fantasy to science fiction to mysteries/thrillers and others. I am looking to connect to other readers and more good recommendations. The best books I have read this summer so far have been The House of the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and Home Front by Kristin Hannah. The biggest disappointment: Where the Crawdads Sang.
