I’m new here, and I’m hoping to connect with fellow fantasy readers and writers.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what makes dark fantasy so addictive. For me, it’s that uneasy balance between beauty and horror — where every victory feels dangerous, and even the heroes carry shadows of their own.

That’s the kind of story I wanted to write when I created Cursed Shadows — the first book in my new saga. It’s a mix of dark fantasy, cursed magic, betrayal, and forbidden romance, where survival often means becoming something you swore you’d never be.

Here’s the hook I’ve been playing with:
When shadows curse the land, one reluctant hero must face ancient powers and dangerous choices — but the deeper he goes, the harder it becomes to tell whether he’s saving the world… or dooming it.

I’d love to know — what’s your favorite thing about dark fantasy? The morally gray characters? The tragic twists? Or that feeling that nothing and no one is ever truly safe?
