Are there any books you have on your TBR pile that you'd like to discuss? I'd like to join in some buddy reads within the team!

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments :( I read Venom in January and Shadow & Bone in February...So I won't be doing those. I might join you for To Kill a Mockingbird (depending on how my other BR are going).

Princess Godoy (bookishcess) | 1063 comments READY!!

message 10: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Just wondering how many books you guys are aiming for?
I hope to read 15 !

message 11: by Princess (new)

Princess Godoy (bookishcess) | 1063 comments My February is pretty unproductive so I'm aiming for 31 :)

message 12: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Haha wow! Solid numbers :D

message 13: by Brittani (new)

Brittani Allen | 399 comments sorry guys I finally got the link to work! I'm ready! does a book I'm currently reading count or do I have to have started it after March 1st?

message 14: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
It has to be started after 00.00 on March 1st ☺

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments Well, considering I just read 16 books that counted + 5 more that had less than 100 pages in February, you'd think I'd set a high goal.
But March is a little insane for me - I have report cards to write & Parent Interviews, but I also have the last few days off for Spring Break, so I'm going to set my goal at 10 books, and hopefully be able to speed past that no problem.

Sorry if that was TL;DR....

message 17: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenchooker) Wow! Solid numbers :) March is a little crazy for me (tons of overtime!), so my lofty goal is 12, but I think a more realistic goal is 8 or 9. I'm hoping to read:

The Girl at Midnight
Seraphina
The Midwife of Hope River
The Reluctant Midwife: A Hope River Novel
The Lake Season
Sea of Stars
The 4-Hour Workweek
Death Sworn
Red Queen

I don't have any set dates on these, so if anyone wants to buddy read, just let me know! :)

Princess Godoy (bookishcess) | 1063 comments The challenge is already starting! Good luck to us!

Here's a cute puppy to inspire us all

Lauren (laurenchooker) Apparently if you use an emoji, it cuts half of your message off. I started one this morning and am planning on finishing tonight or tomorrow.

and ARC is an Advanced Reader Copy - a proof copy of a book, which is given to someone to read and review, prior to the books publication date ☺

message 21: by Brittani (new)

Brittani Allen | 399 comments I'm probably not gonna get a lot of reading done til the middle of the month cuz im visiting family but then I'll go crazy

message 22: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenchooker) Just started Bound. REALLY wish I didn't have to work!

message 24: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee I think this will take me a while since it's not very engaging :S

What about when you're commuting? Is there time to read?

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments Noella wrote: "I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee I think this will take me a while since it's not very engaging :S"

I love To Kill a Mockingbird! I read it back in Grade 9 (oh my...that's a while back) and thought it was good, and then my husband (when he was still my boyfriend) was in a theatre production of it as Bob Ewell. If I can get my act together & finish The Hobbit, I think I might do a re-read!

message 27: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenchooker) Noella, it takes me five minutes to drive to work (small city!) so no. I think I might start reading at the gym, though. I've been waking up early to read---this challenge has been very motivational!

message 28: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments @Jessica
I read it back in 8-9th grade too! I kinda forgot what it was about except for the names. It's not bad at the moment, just easy to put down and do other things.. That's cool how your husband was in a theatre production of it!

@Lauren
Oh I see!

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments Gah! I just looked at the chasers - they already have 23 points! Do they just read all day?!?!

Oh no, the gap has widened even more. Chasers on a whopping 36! Definitely need to go the buddy read route to catch up.

message 32: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments What's everyone reading at the moment? I'm kind of disappointed we've lagged behind T_T

message 33: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments I'm reading the Assassin and the Underworld (short novella) and the DUFF.

Looks like you're getting through those books quite quickly though which is impressive! I guess all that matters is we enjoy the books we read :)

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments I'm trying to read The Hobbit, but I've been terribly stressed the last little bit, so I haven't gotten very far. I've got an e-book on the go as well.

I have to apologize that I haven't been reading as much for this challenge - I will be reading more, I'm just in a slump right now, plus work stuff and family health problems are huge factors.

message 35: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenchooker) I just finished Bound and will be starting either Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee Death Sworn (Death Sworn, #1) by Leah Cypess or The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass if anyone wants to join! Too many decisions, so you can choose :)

I absolutely loved the selection ☺

That makes me feel better (love your review!) I bought it and then started to get nervous about whether I would like it or not.

I got it for christmas one year, and I was so glad i did because it was so good! The other book I got at the same time wasn't quite as good though ☺

message 39: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments @Lauren
Can't join you on any since my reading schedule packed but I do hope you enjoy the Selection. Breezed through that book since it was addictive!

message 40: by Arys (new)

Arys (readeatlove) Hi Everyone! :)

message 41: by Arys (new)

Arys (readeatlove) Hi Lauren, I'll join in reading the Selection if still going to read. :)

message 42: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Welcome to the team Arys :)

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments Ugh! I started an ebook with a buddy read, and I knew if I didn't like it, I was going to try to get to at least 100 'real' pages, but I hated it so much, I got to like 25....
Now I'm onto a book I definitely like so hopefully this will get me out of my reading slump.

message 44: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Hey all,
I hope you can consider buddy reading these FREE short stories for a quick 2 points per book :)

Life, Love, and Texting by Kai Michaels

Which book was that? I hate reading slumps :( Do you like contemporaries? That usually gets me out of one !

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments It was 'Rosie Rinkstar'. Got it through NetGalley.
I'm not usually into contemporaries. I'm more YA fantasy stuff - I'm currently reading book 4 of the Mortal Instruments. So good, just totally thrown off my reading game right now :(

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments @Noella - where can I find these e-books?

message 48: by Noella (new)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments They're available on Amazon. Three Little Words is also on Kobo

Reading Rediscovered (readingrediscovered) | 876 comments Life, Love & Texting isn't free anymore.
