Omg it’s so cute I’m obsessed with it! Stands for National Novel Writing Month (think it’s American but people take part from all over so not that national but ya know) and it takes place in November every year and you sign up to it and basically the goal is to write 50,000 words of your novel by the end of the month, and like you can talk to other people taking part and join cute groups and stuff, and I just wondered if anyone on here was taking part? Also, you can do it all year round and set your own goals, like you don’t have to commit just to the November thaaaang but it’s just a nice way for writers to mark their progress and meet other writers

Omg you should! Well, everyone should! I’m definitely not gonna hit 50,000 words by the end of November cuz I have like so much thesis prep I’ve not even thought about which I will grudgingly conceded is probably more important (my roughy goal is more like 50,000 words by the new year) BUT even if I don’t I’m still gonna say I have, which might not be in the spirit of things, but last year the winners got a 50% discount for scrivener which I NEED because I’m currently paying a whole £10 a month for living writer (in THIS economy?!) which, as pretty and useful as it is, is too much

oh yes (i’m just gonna jump into this conversation don’t mind me) NaNoWriMo is amazing! especially for writing the first draft of a novel! although if you get stressed easy or don’t work well under pressure then I would give yourself a lower goal (unless you can write really fast) because it can kind of be stressful. But other than that it is a really good thing to be a part of.

but in answer of your question Charlie, if you haven’t guessed yet, then yes I’m doing it this year and it might just be the first year I actually try to hit the goal lol
