But anyways, so sorry for this, lol-
I just would really like this group to get active, I’ve worked on it since August and would love if some people could support it.
Again, SO SORRY for advertising and not being active :(

Sadly, yes it will, but you’re free to join once you get to finish the seasons!

No need to apologise at all!

I think GR has its lows and highs -try looking for entertaining reviews- mostly found under 'BookTok books' lol

Ikkk TwT

I'd say back it up with science, which makes it more logical and easy to follow. But research is key.
Was there ever a power you wished you possessed? Try incorporating it too.

Lol There are some cool stuff, so keep searching

I guess if you're struggling for ideas the best thing would be to work backwards - start with thinking about what you want to happen in the story (in broad strokes) and then think about how a magic system might work around it. So, like, does it function as a barrier to a certain relationship or character goal? Is it the reason for your characters knowing each other etc.?
I'm very much a discovery writer so I've never really planned a magic system per se. I kinda just start with the most basic idea and just see what comes out when I'm writing. Eventually gets to a point where I have a clearer idea of the world I'm building and I can then build on the theory from there. I dunno, could be a good way to get some ideas flowing?

Coming back to it, my plan was to rework it away from the story I originally had planned because I felt like it was gonna be way too expansive and complicated, but at the moment I'm struggling to disassociate what I originally had planned from where it could potentially go and I'm just looking for a fresh perspective from someone who doesn't know what I was originally planning if you see what I mean. I'd like to do it as a swap so that I can get into the mindset of thinking about building a plot with a piece I'm unfamiliar with. I'm currently in the process of adding two new chapters but should have those done in about a week's time, at which point I'll basically have the setup for the rest of the story, so it would be a good point to get some feedback about where they think the story should go/is going so I can get some new ideas.
It's a high-fantasy YA story and I'll probably have about 15,0000 words (maybe closer to 20,000) ready to swap once the new chapters are added. Like I say, it is being reworked from the draft I started three years ago, but I've changed a lot so it's basically like a first draft (the manuscript is full of notes on the plot which I might leave in to see what people think of them), but it's also just my fun lil side project which I'm not taking super seriously so, even if it's still kinda chaotic, I'm happy to share it with anyone in a similar position.
Anyone interested?

Oh perfect, would it be possible to have a thread specifically for swaps?

awesome! what music do you listen to?

i love your taste, Osh - it is similar to mine!
i listen to pop punk, rock, indie. i do also listen to some kpop, bollywood and other foreign music, such as japanese or russian. comedy music is fun for me too
synth music is really satisfying to. idk why.
I'm not a musician unfortunately. i used to play the piano but due my disinterest at the time, i quit but i want to go back to it now tbh 🤔
that sounds really cool - mixing and editing music - i would love to hear it :)
i never actually watched stranger things 💀
then again, i don't really listen to movie or TV show soundtracks - it's musicals only for me 💃🏽
classical is a fun genre - it's calming to listen to - i only know little about it tho
I wrote so much 😭 don't mind me rambling

Ooh that's cool. I play piano and am learning guitar but I also know other percussive instruments (vibes and marimba/xylophone) as well as violin, clarinet and some vague memories of trumpet.
That's so cool! Sound mixing is really tricky, but the result is so worth it. In the program I was in the head of it would mix all our sounds and watching it happen was kinda mesmerizing
yay! I've been trying to get into soundtracks lately lol. I'm listening to the kite runner soundtrack with the book. It's so good. Movie musicians know where it's at

Your music sounds so good! I'm not really into kpop but have heard great things about bollywood!
You should! Playing an instrument is so fun
I love musicals, too. Stranger Things is such a good show. If you like synth music I think you'd really enjoy it. They kinda explore the musical and emotional limits of specific sounds

violin is so fun! i don't play it but i hope to one day. never really listened or played clarinet so i don't really know how difficult it is but i bet it is hard
the drums are so fun - man, there are so many instruments i'd like to learn but i can't overload my head with info otherwise im just lose it 💀
kpop is not for everyone but i enjoy it - same, i'm quite picky but im happy to listen to mostly anything
we all are basically just rambling haha xD

i'll try synth music and see how it goes!"
Right now I've mostly been listening to Epic, Hadestown, Be More Chill, and (don't judge I don't like the plot I just like the music) Dear Evan Hansen
Hope you enjoy synth stuff!
