Q: what if we happen to chain all 5 creatures, do we start again ot 'game over' ?
A: The game is over at this point for your team. Make sure you choose your books wisely because page count points will make a difference.

Q: If one team member has a busy RL week would 2 people be able to do a chain of 3 or is it stricly all 3 of us do each chain?
A: I will allow 2 people to do a chain. There are a couple of players that read a lot less than others that signed up. I didn't want our bigger readers reading a whole chain by themselves. Please make sure everyone on your team is involved. I don't want anyone to feel left out. You have until the end of November to finish. I gave you guys time to pace yourselves a bit and play your other challenges as well.

Q: Will each team get different creatures? Will we be told these before September? It’s my first time doing this challenge
A: You will each get the same 5 creatures. You may complete them in any order but once you start a creature, you must finish it before moving to another creature. Your spreadsheet will have all of that included in it and will be added to your threads on 8/28/22 or 8/29/22.

Q: Is there a set time frame we need to finish a monster by or we just need to finish them all by november 30th?
A: November 30th is the deadline. However, you can only work on one monster at a time. I will give you time to update. I probably won't announce winners until the 2nd.

Q: Can i read a book with mummy in title even though its the wrong kind of mummy
A: The task only says to read a book with that word in the title. So, yes, I will accept it.

Q: Will you take plural and possessive for "____" in title, such as mummies or witch's?
A: yes

Q: How do the Buddy Read bonus points work for this?
A: We have a formal buddy read each month. You may or may not be able to make it fit a task. They are specific books. I allow bonus points for those in all my team challenges if someone is crafty enough to make them fit. You must participate in the Buddy Read for it to count. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

A: Any 3 consecutive numbers or letters.

Q: For non audio books do we use default edition or edition we read?
A: Edition that you read.

Q: For the chain with ' colour words' ..can the colours all be different?
A: Since I didn't specify, I will allow them to be different.

Q: Would you take spookiest for spooky? It is even more spooky.
A: LOL, sure.

Q: I know we have to complete one monster before we move forward but can we work on more than one limb of the same monster at a time? Like can one person do their arm book first while another does a leg as long as it's on the same monster?
A: Yes

Q: For the common word task, can the common word be "The"
A: No, articles do not count for this task (A, An, The) or the word 'and'.

Q: Are we allowed to read the same book as one of our team members for the same task?
A: Depends on the task. If you are talking about a task with a certain word in the title like "Mummy", then I suppose you may. This wouldn't work for series or consecutive tasks.

Q: For Create a chain of 3 using books that are all black.
What percentage does it have to be to be considered enough?
A: 50% is the rule for color tasks. You may use TinEye or if it is obvious to your eye that is fine.

how would a buddy read work for this- i assume it wouldn't be all 3 of us reading 1 book for all 3 Vampire slots/ legs, right?? would it be 1 book that 2-3 of us read that works for 2 different monsters or 2 different legs from 2 different monsters??? if that makes any sense what so ever--- 🤦🏽‍♀️

Please check your spreadsheet for the monsters you will be catching. This is where all your tasks are.

If we started a book before 9/1, can we use it? I just realized that a book I had already started but hadn't read but about a third, would work for a task.

As long as it isn't finished until after the challenge started. The finish date is what counts.

Of course! You can use one book for as many challenges as you want. You cannot use one book for more than 1 task within one challenge unless specified otherwise in the challenge rules.

What task are you working on? If you are working on the common word task, one word has to be the same with all 3 titles (articles do not count). I will accept singular & plurals.

If we finish the challenge early , can we go back and try and up pg counts for somenof the tasks
