I never heard anything about that, but I also don't pay much attention to behind the scenes stuff. D:

@Sephora carstairs slay bestie if it works it works
Dracula helped with characterization, Alice in Wonderland helped with world-building, Agatha Christie helped to me to learn how to increase suspense, as well as make mystery/crime stories more unexpected, Shirley Jackson helped me to understand how to write more disturbing short stories, and a whole load of textbooks I've read for college classes...so...a lot lol :)
