I came across the Pan Book of Horror Stories series, which, as I understand the GR policy, is NOT a series. But I was very surprised to see the following note on its edit page:

"Anthology series DO count as series. Please do not delete!"

Did the (super)librarian who created the series make this up, or were the rules different back in 2012?

lethe | 16359 comments I found a static Listopia for these books: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

So the series can be deleted, but I still would like to know if the note on the series page is and has always been nonsense. Therefore I moved it to Policies & Practices and changed the topic title.

Miriam | 1831 comments The only time an anthology series would count as a series (to my knowledge) is if the stories are all set in the same "world".

I have read a few series that are strictly anthologies and set in the same "world" (many with cross-over characters). But this looks more like a theme anthology collection, not a series.

lethe | 16359 comments Agreed. I wasn't active on Goodreads in 2012, but I can't imagine the rules changing that much.
