Dharmakirti | 942 comments "Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83."

Ugh. I had forgotten he was sick. Sucks.

Steven Paul Leiva (goodreadscomuser_stevenpaulleiva) So sad. Years ago, when I worked for a Arts magazine, I had a meeting with him about his poetry. It was at his office in an apartment somewhere in L.A. He was running late, and was in the shower when I arrived. He popped out, still wet with a towel around his middle to apologize, before getting dressed. That's all I remember. Don't remember a damn thing about out talk about his poetry. Though I remember assiduously not bringing up "Star Trek" as this was the time when he was trying to escape from it. Well, he didn't -- much to the benefit of all us for whom Star Trek remains a major love of our lives.

Joanna Chaplin | 1175 comments I think I'm going to have to fire up my old Star Trek Online account so I can be melancholy and listen to him narrate.

Keidy | 525 comments OMG! I am SO sad! I just recently watched Star Trek the Original series all because of the new Star Trek movies. Leonard Nimoy's performance was stellar in both. I JUST discovered him. Why? Why?! T_T

Keidy | 525 comments I really liked the car commercial that Leonard Nimoy did with Zachary Quinto. He's such a good sport and had such an interesting life. I'm going to miss him so much. T_T

John Karr (karr) | 30 comments Would Star Trek have been as cool without Nimoy? I don't think so.
