Hi, Kat . I would like to participate with two of my books, "Freer of Souls" and "Catatumbo". Looking at a reply you wrote to someone else I understand one has to contact the author, read a book and then post one's books for review. Since i would to review "Drywolf" by Kat Kinney, I guess that would be you?
Thank you,
Taggart

Welcome, Taggart! I have sent you a private message.

Pardon my ignorance, but where are the private messages? I have checked the bell, the speech cloud, the envelope and the groups on the bar and didn't see any private message. Sorry I am quite newbie on using the site.

If you are using the Goodreads app, it doesn't have all the features. You may need to switch to using Goodreads in a web browser on your phone, or on a regular desktop or laptop. It is ordinarily the little envelope icon. What I see is the bell, the speech cloud, the envelope (those are your private messages), and then friends, the your own avatar.
If you did not receive my message, which I sent a few hours ago, perhaps try sending one to me if you can get into messaging? If you can't get into messaging at all, it may be a goodreads app issue.

I will message you again. Sometimes GR is buggy and messages don't go through.
Also, the way to send a private message is kind of hard to find. To send a message, you have to go to the person's author/user page, then by their avatar, there is a button that says "Follow author." Next to that button there is a little down arrow. If you click on it, it will reveal a drop down menu. Within that drop down menu, there is the option to "Send message."
They really took great pains to hide it!
I'll try messaging you again now.

I posted my reviews of Dyrwolf:

Hello, Kat.
I read "The Soldiers' Perspective," #9 on the list, and my reviews are up:

I believe this is in the first ten, so I can place two books for review? Here they are:
"Petals in the Hail," High fantasy / Coming of age / LGBTQ romance.

"Son of Sloan," Dark fantasy / Coming of age.

You will receive two review credits for reviewing one of the first 10 books on the list.
Oh; ok. Petals in the Hail is the one I really would like reviewed. It is my recent work. Let's focus on that one, please.
Son of Sloan can wait for the second credit.
Thanks

Oh okay. So would you rather me not put the note about "or any book by this author?" Entirely up to you. There are two credits listed for your book at the moment.
I see it up; that's great. Thanks!
Best,
James

To join a review round, you will need to set your messaging status to receive messages from anyone. Right now yours are set to private.
In order to participate in this round, your setting for 'Who Can Send Me Private Messages' needs to be 'anyone'.
Please follow this link to check - and if necessary change - your privacy setting.
https://www.goodreads.com/user/edit?t...
If you fix your messaging status, and send me a private message, I will add you to the list of people who would like to be notified the next time there are new rounds. There are 2-3 other people new to the group who I am also contacting. Or you can just check back on your own.
We also have the one for one list. To participate in this list, pick any book you want to read from the first post of the list. After you have read the book and posted your review links from GR/Amz, your book will be added to the list for someone else to choose. Full instructions are in the first post of the list.

Hope this helps!

After I have posted the reviews can I get my book reviewed?
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
Also suppose these books are not my type of book - and I can't review it because it is too depressing for example - should I just not do so. (I don't like such books).

Hi Reginald! The way the list works is that after you have posted the links to the reviews you wrote on GR/Amz, your book will be added to the list for someone else to choose. Sometimes your book will be chosen fairly quickly. Sometimes it may be a little while. It just depends how much activity we're getting with the list at the moment.
I would endeavor to choose books that you will enjoy and will be able to review. The great thing about the one for one list is that you are choosing the book. So pick one you feel like you will enjoy reading.
We also have review rounds. We should have new ones starting soon. Check back every few days and look for a round that says "now forming" in the thread title if you wish to join.

On Amz, you can go to the book page, sort by most recent reviews posted (yours should appear at the top if you just posted it) and click on the title of the review. This will take you to a separate page and then just copy what's in the address bar.
Alternatively, Amz usually sends you an email with a link to your review as soon as they post it.

Still working on sharing the link. I once was lost but Now I'm free: Daisy.

Hi Cindy! Super. As soon as you have the GR/Amz links for your review, just post them here, along with the link for your book that you would like added and then I will get it added to the list.

Blessedly Bound. I can download it from Kindle Unlimited.
Thanks.

Hi Zita! Great! As soon as your review links are posted, I will get your book added to the list.

If you review one of the first ten books from the list, rather than getting one credit for you own book, you get two for that review.

So Book #1 Blessedly Bound, only has one credit left. When someone reviews it, it will be removed from the list.
Book#2 on the list, Errant, has a x2 next to it, because that author has two credits, so when someone reviews Errant next, they will have one credit taken away, but the book will still remain on the list so it can be reviewed one more time.
Once you're on the list with your book, if you complete additional reviews, it will add to your x(whatever) next to your book.
