Please do. You can use all those mysteries you love and that are already on your list.

But really Alondra, one more challenge like this and my TBR would be forever out of control! so many new (to me) and very interesting books are thrown on my way!😬

It's Alondra's most devious way of encouraging you to try books..

Yay! Thanks for joining us, Carolyn. Don't forget, if you read something great; give us all a recommendation!

I have no clue on what to do for this challenge. I have a ton of series from this genre that I am behind in; so, I will be picking at least 2 books from that.

Great plan, Desley.
I won't be challenging myself to more than 4. I already know I'm going to be kinda lost, because I am so behind on my series. It'll be slow going. Ugh

True the only one that comes to mind is Karen rose and her books are looong
Martha wrote: "I only put 4 on the list so far ... ones I need for other challenges at the moment. Hopefully, I can whiz through them. Sadly, I get distracted easily. LOL"
Same here. I put a few that really need to get read, so that I can progress through the series. It's been about 1 1/2-2 years since I read any Harry Bosch..... 🤦🏾

Goodreads just posted cozy mysteries to read for fall, here: https://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/2...
There may be some series that you haven't thought of yet. Who knows??

Like, Bill; I have to get back to this series. I think I have to order the next one i'm on.
I started The Leopard, which is #8 in the Harry Hole series. That book is pretty thick.. ugh

I must admit that I jumped ahead in the series so I can read this ARC copy I got , probably not very wise as it seems many changes happened to the Department Q team. I enjoyed it although not as much as I expected, and I think it was a typical Department Q investigation with some horrible murders to solve. It was kind of strange to think of them in the middle of the corona pandemic (story set in 2020) talking about lockdown and face mask and all. Well it was enjoyable over all.

Mmmm, interesting. I am still gonna read it. I love this series. Your thoughts have me interested in the changes. I am so behind on this series.

Finished The Maze of Bones
2.5 -3 Stars
The actual challenge of finding clues was interesting, but this is very middle-grade. Some middle grade books are fabulous (i.e. Percy Jackson, etc). Even with adults in the book, of course, it is from a kids pov, which was timid, childish and what adults "think" children sound like. I won't be continuing the series and will give the next 2 books to the Little Library.

Just received The Scarred Woman in the mail. Its time to get back to this series. I think I will read some in depth reviews with spoilers, of the first few books, just so I can jog my memory.

I enjoyed a lot of Sharon Bolton's books. This one beats all the others. I finished in one day and I'm off to order the next of the series. It has the right combination I think: a copycat of Jack the ripper, characters with twisted secret and interesting chemistry and unexpected end! I simply loved it. There were however quite a few graphic murder scenes that made me give it 4 rather than 5 Stars.

I started The Leopard, which is good, so far. Even though I haven't read Harry Hole in over a year (i think); it is like I never left. Poor Harry
How is everyone doing on the challenge???
I've only finished 1 book. Not sure how many more I will finish, considering I haven't picked up a book in 5 days... *sigh*
I am hoping, since the challenge doesn't end until mid-December, that I will get 3 more done.

Welcome to the thread for our Mystery Month Challenge.
November is the perfect month to wrap up with a cozy blanket, some cocoa and a good mystery/thriller!
The mystery genre is a HUGE and all encompassing genre of works. You can have cozy mysteries, romantic, paranormal, horror, suspense, fantasy and science fiction mysteries. There is a little something for everyone, and they always provide and answer.... not always, but go with it! LOL
Remember, create a list under "My Books" that is for this challenge only!!
This challenge runs from November 1st thru December 15th. On Nov. 1st, the challenge opens up on the group home page and you can put how many books you challenge yourself to read. Your updates will appear there, as well.
Please note; you can increase your amount at any time. There is a link next to your challenge on the home page that states update your challenge.
I really hope you all enjoy!!
