Through Ch. 6

I didn't know this book is in the format of am epistolary novel. So far, if I'm not mistaken, every chapter has been (view spoiler)[a letter to Karl. I would think that Lucas would have gotten tired of no responses and stopped writing him.

What is up with "that boy is the way forward"? I'm wondering why he's in a tent and kind of cut off. I have a feeling if he is the way forward (whatever that actually means to Lucas), I think his senior project will be what helps somehow. (hide spoiler)]

Through Ch. 12

(view spoiler)[I can't believe what Jacob and Eli and even Lucas went through with their mothers. Jeez, what the heck! I really feel for Eli because he seems so lost and alone. When something like the tragedy of a shooting that kills multiple people, I feel like the community oftentimes ends up blaming the family, avoiding them, and so forth. What Jacob did wasn't Eli's fault but I feel like his mother definitely created in Jacob the person he became. I definitely feel like something is off with Karl. I think something happened to him because I can't imagine a therapist would totally ignore someone for so long like that. (hide spoiler)]

Finished This is such a quick read! I took my time, we had a breakfast banquet down at Mama Mia's Restaurant. We did some visiting with our granddaughter and her boyfriend who came with us. It didn't take nearly as long as my posts indicate!
