Team Wright Brothers: Chat
So, I've never done a Theme Wars, we just read and try to read for the Theme? Should we have a spreadsheet to keep track of books?
Trinia, have you done Theme Wars before?

Yes, I did my first one last month. We have a link that Donna will add under message 1, where we can enter our books once finished.
You basically read any book that you can connect with the theme of the week.
So we start with Nov 1-7 Pilots
The length of the book gives us more points.
I have a few books in mind, that I found the word Pilot in text. Otherwise if you have a Pilot as a character or other type of connection should work.
It's fun but this theme is not tops on my list, so I aimed for 1-2 books each week.
Alright! Sounds good. I definitely agree this is a challenging Theme.
Would a Spell Out in the Title be too obscure for the theme? All the letters of PILOT in the title?

If you can explain how it fits, then it will count. This challenge allows you to be creative.

I sent her another message. If she doesn't show up by tomorrow afternoon I will send out a broadcast for a backup player.

Well, this is definitely a challenging task...
I am participating in the Formal Buddy Read though, so that's a 2 point bonus! :)

Nice!
We're doing pretty good! I don't think I'll have another Pilot book before the end of the day! Next is Air Force/Navy, which might be even harder!

Of course it would have worked for the next round too. I have a couple lined up but yes, way harder!
wow!
I am sick, so I only managed to finish my audiobook yesterday, no mention of anything aviation there.

I hope you are feeling better.

Getting there! I'm 90% sure it's just a sinus infection, and not the flu that's been running through my house! I unfortunately am prone to them, even after having sinus surgery this year!

The book I just finished referenced the Marines (I think, I'm going to go back a double-check), of course...
What do we think of this quote, though?
"I was thinking more Nautical Navy, Mystic Gray for the trim and porch."
I don't have a page number, bc I was listening on audiobook and I'm not sure I could find it again. When you said the color thing, I had an epiphany.... I looked it up in google books to find the exact quote.
I think I'm going to post and ask forgiveness later if it a no-no.

I would say the fact that it says nautical Navy is a plus! lol

Phew! I was so busy this week at work that I got nothing accomplished with reading. I'm trying to decide what constitutes Search and Rescue.
I managed to finish Library of Souls, which involves a "search and rescue..." I think I'll post it.
Crap! I finished it the 21st! Ugh! I'll have to hope for another try...

Yeah, it is a tough one. I got lucky with the book I posted because they were rescuing animals.
Maybe finding Search and Rescue in text (maybe not together) is ok.
And for a long title search and rescue
Or
An author with the initials SR
Or a book with “and” in the title like Search AND Rescue.
Just brainstorming 🙃
I found this cute series

Challenge rules:
*No graphic novels, poetry or cookbooks allowed.
*Follow your own time zone. If you finish the book between the theme dates in your time zone, it counts.
*You must be able to justify how your book fits the theme. Example: If the theme is cats, then your book can have a cat on the cover, a cat in the book, can be all about cats, etc. If you can justify it, then it will work. Let's keep this easy and you may be creative with your links to the themes.
Standard Rules Apply
Themes
Nov 1-7 Pilots
Nov 8-14 Air Force/Navy
Nov 15-21 Airports/Airplanes
Nov 22-30 Search and Rescue
*Theme Start & End times are based on your time zone. So the Pilots theme will end on Nov 7th at midnight in the time zone that you live in.*
