Play Book Tag discussion

In the opening scenes of Original Sin, Mandy (an office temp) discovers the body of a suicide at Innocent House - a magnificent old house on the banks of the Thames that serves as the headquarters for Perveral Publishing. I was hooked from those first scenes, primarily because I was once an office temp :-).

This book is long for a mystery - about 550 pages. But that's because P.D. James goes deep into character development. It may not be a fast read, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Even the Thames river became a character.

This is my first P.D. James book, and it won't be the last.
