I never had a book mobile :(

Closest would be when the discount book sale would come to school, and take over the gym into a treasure trove of cheap books!

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments There is a library on wheels bus that comes to a street next to my place... but I never went to see how it works

message 6: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments Apparently there is a mobile library that visits the village I now live in. We've only live here for a month or so, so we haven't seen it yet.

Judy | 4065 comments Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! I was going to sit out challenges before the end of the year but the wheel... I can't resist the wheel.......

message 8: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments I'm afraid I am sitting this one out. Just too much going on this time of year, and still have another team challenge going on on top! :(

We never had a mobile library either, but for a fun story featuring one, I recommend The Uncommon Reader!

message 9: by Mahi (new)

Mahi | 230 comments I've signed up for this... against my better judgement

Ariel (aellen) | 129 comments I've never played this challenge before but I'm excited.

We have a Book Mobile in my town but it only goes to special events like fairs or reading festivals.

Put your team requests in the other info free answer box at the end of the sign up form and we'll do our best to accommodate, but no promises!

Okay I already submitted the form but I can resubmit it.

Melindam | 8304 comments Hello, hello!! 😊🥳

Scampers off to check possible books about mobile libraries.

And off course the "wheels on the bus" song just started playing in my head. ...

Sammy, you will be sorely missed. 😞

The Uncommon Reader is a perfect little book, its only drawback is that it's only 120 pages. Otherwise absolutely recommended by me as well. 😀

She will. I might even shy from putting up a planning spreadsheet... My favorite planner won't be playing

message 21: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments Awww, sorry guys. Just not going to work this time. Especially as I'll be missing the first week (and won't be reading much during that time either), due to spending it traipsing around a desert, lol.

I'll play Uno in the new year, and whatever comes after that (I'm guessing TT) :)

LOL I wish you hadn't said that because now I can't stop singing it at least in my head! lol

message 23: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 2326 comments This should be an interesting take on Wheels! I love this challenge and look forward to it every year. This year we will be in Cabo San Lucas from Nov 16-26 but that will only involve 1 book that will have to be read before we get back, I think so I'll be able to work it out with whichever team I am on.

message 24: by Jhmingos (new)

Jhmingos | 704 comments Got some travel in late Nov. too so I'm hoping to get some audiobooks. Didn't want to miss out on Wheels.

message 25: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I'm traveling for a week in December. But I signed up. I assume as long as I let my team know and I still hit my quota for the month that I'll be all right. Going to Disney with a group of friends so I doubt I'll read anything that week.

Deanna | 3529 comments I can't resist a wheel challenge!

We have a bookmobile in our area, but I love going into the library to browse and haven't ever used it. There is a mystery series with a bookmobile and a cat at my library.... Here it is! First book in the series is Lending a Paw (A Bookmobile Cat Mystery, #1) by Laurie Cass . It's a cozy mystery.

With the weather getting colder, a cozy mystery sounds like a good book to curl up in, especially one with a cat and a bookmobile.

message 30: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 2438 comments I ended up submitting the form twice to change my books per week. Please use the one with 2 books per week.

message 31: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 2567 comments Excited for another Wheel and the opportunity to play with former team mates and meet new people! No book mobile in my current city or where I grew up, but I love that it was and still is in existence!

message 32: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 1041 comments We never had the book mobile growing up, but had a book fair a few times a year that was my happy place.

message 33: by Judy (new)

Judy | 4065 comments I've been doing some thinking... I really don't think I can participate at all, I'm neck-deep in my thesis and based on past experience, I probably won't (want to) read at all for a good while :(

So sad cause wheel's my favorite 🥲

message 34: by M (new)

M Beal | 1680 comments I remember the book mobile coming around to my school when I was younger. I love wheel. Excited to meet my team members. Also, am I the only one that is a little nuts and making a TBR already.

Catsalive | 423 comments I'm completely new to this challenge & have just submitted my signup form. Fingers crossed :0)

Bookmobile comes to my suburb every Friday 7.30-9.30am.

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments I didn't have a book mobile, but the library was nearby. Also, there was a yearly book fair and that was huge, but just before covid, the book fair stopped. Now there's a new one, but not so big. I never went to it.

(Now I have visions of Joan Cusak driving that old bookmobile in the American Girl series Kit Kitridge movie haha.)

Team assignments have been released, you can check it out here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/..., where you will also see your word and cover colour for the week.

All teams will also be getting bonus points for books tagged SPACE OPERA used in your spellouts - get planning!

Please be patient as your captains sort themselves out; we'll get threads open for chatting ASAP!

Did I read somewhere that the tag has to be on the first page of Top Shelves? Or am I imaging that?

I think the answer is that it has to have 10 tags, is that right?

message 46: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments Not sure where to ask, can you open Gatsby for a bit so I can save some co-captain spots? Please and thank you!
