Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments I'm having the same issue as Mary on Terms and Conditions. I can't get to the tags page from the book page, but since it's MPG Contemporary, I'd like to think it will have more than 10 tags. Can someone who still has access to the old page please check? Thx!

I was on my laptop on Chrome. What's funny is if I log in at work, the old pages show up. Maybe it's a Windows thing? I'll try it on windows when I get home and see if that goes to the old pages -- which I prefer anyway.

message 265: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments To be clear, I am seeing the new page. It just happens that on those 2 books there was no way to see, that I could find, how many times they were shelved. The old page always showed that with the MPG shelves. This just listed the genres/shelves with no "more options" tab to bring up the whole shelf list that shows the numbers. Most other books have a "more" tab and then once you click that, you click show all to get the whole list with numbers.

I guess I've been lucky so far with my books. I'm not super techy, so I have no clue.
I get this message..."Hello! Thank you for your patience as we continue to make improvements and prepare to bring the new book page experience to all our members. Share your feedback or visit this help page for information about the new book page." when I go to a book page, but everything else looks the same to me.

I think all the current rounds end and new rounds start on Mondays. The only difference will be what time zone you're in.

If you take the book page link for the book you are looking at - https:// www .goodreads. com/book/show/56898180.The_Ballad_of_Laurel_Springs - and change the word "show" to "shelves", it will give you the list.

Nanci | 2567 comments How can it be Thursday already? This week is flying by! Really enjoying my reads for this week. Hope you all are too!

If you like family sagas set in Ireland, then I would recommend The Yellow House. I'm only about 75 pages into it, but I can already tell it's going to be high scoring stars!

Oh, it's set in Newry. That's only about 10-15 mins drive from where I live. Haven't read this book but I did read another book by this author, The Titanic Sisters. I really liked it

This sounds good. So far, I've only had one 5-star book for this challenge but I've been enjoying some of the reads this week.

Nanci | 2567 comments Hi Dale,
On your completed book, My Kind of Love, I had to remove "K" from your letters that work. The word "My" is not a definite/indefinite article, so it can't be ignored to work for the title starting with "Kind". I did find the letter "A" works, as it's the author's last name.

If any other character names work, could you please add them to the spreadsheet? The more options we have the better! Thanks!

I love it when a book takes place where I live! So cool that you're just minutes away from Newry. I looked on the map before I started reading to see the location since we were fortunate to visit Ireland for 8 days 11 years ago. We loved it so much and would love to return again someday!

message 285: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 2567 comments Jhmingos, I've also only had one 5-star book for this challenge, but I'm stingy with my stars! LOL. I have had a few 4-star books. Nice that you're enjoying your books for this week. For me, this has been the best week yet. Just wish I had more time to read, as when it's a good book I tend to slow down and reread passages and take time to sit and let the words really settle in more.

Zombies!! I'm hoping we have lots of zombie lovers on the team. Definitely not my genre. And semiosis? I had to look that one up; new word for me! Definition: the process of signification in language or literature. . I'm going to share that one with my RL book group. Haha!

Dale | 377 comments Can we use a book if the page number just shows up on Amazon?

message 294: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 2567 comments Dale, so do you mean you can't find the edition you're reading on Goodreads, or do you mean you selected a book on Amazon (where pages show), but you can't find that edition on Goodreads? If it's the second scenario, I think we can ask a librarian to add it to Goodreads. Louise, I'm looking to you for guidance on this one, since I'm not sure.

message 295: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 2567 comments Way to go team for this week! It's harder with our longer spell out, but we're on target to get our spell out read two times if we read everything that's left on the tracking sheet. We have 14 letter spots left to fill in on our official sheet and we have 14 books left to read on our tracking sheet. We can do it!!!

message 297: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 897 comments Zombies in December? I read too many monsters for challenges in October/November. I'll read one but ugh. Not my favorite genre.

Here are a few suggestions for folks who aren't big zombie lovers:

My favorite is by Mira Grant (also writes fantasy under her real name). Feed. It takes place after the zombie outbreak has become the new norm and is more about the people and changes in the news/politics than the zombies themselves. I love her writing, she creates great characters.

I loved The Boy on the Bridge. The 'sequel' to The Girl with All the Gifts. I actually liked it more than the first and it can be read standalone; there are nods to the other but it runs in parallel and has a different, really interesting ending. Definitely more of a positive book.

For zombie romances: Warm Bodies. Recently made into a film so you can find lots about it.

I have a few interesting ones on my list that I might try as well.

Nanci | 2567 comments Ok, Dale. I found two editions for this on Goodreads.
The Kindle edition (KU); https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

And the paperback edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Please click on both of these links and let us know which book you're reading. Then I think Louise can request a librarian's help, maybe.
