Announcements
- Preparations for 2023 have begun! You can see the timeline of what to expect in the next few months as we gear up for the next year here.
- We had great suggestions for next year’s Yearly Theme, and now it’s time to vote! The yearly theme helps focus our group and guide our discussions and challenges through the coming year. The poll will run until November 10th.
- We would also love your input on new yearly challenges, past yearlies you’d like to see again, and previous quarterly or monthly challenges that might do well for a yearly challenge. You can post them here.
- November is here and that means Secret Santa is starting! Please read through the guidelines and sign up here to participate in one of our most popular group activities.

Tip from the Mods
Keep an eye on the Mod Corner over the next few months! This will be where most of the preparations for 2023 will be announced, and you don’t want to miss anything!

Group Read
Every month, our group votes and reads a book together. You don't have to read the book, but we would love it if you did!
Our November theme is Glass and our group read for this month is Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. The first in an epic 7-book fantasy series follows Calaena Sardothian from a soul-crushing prison to a castle, where there is a mysterious evil lurking!. This book was nominated by Erica. Feel free to join the discussion or post your review of the book!
You can also vote for our December book with the theme of Harmony as well as nominate a book for January with the theme of Opposites!

Challenges
Our group’s fifteen 2022 yearly challenges are entering their eleventh month, but you still have several weeks left to sign up and complete one or more that match your reading plans. Not sure which one’s for you? Check out this Guide to the 2022 Year Challenges. If you’re already participating in our yearly challenges, best wishes to you and your challenge progress!

We are one month into our two 4th quarter challenges which run from October 1 to December 31. There is still plenty of time to sign up and participate for the remainder of the year! Reflecting our quarterly theme of Exploring the Unknown, the first quarterly challenge is a Word Hunt where you will seek specific theme-related words within your books. This challenge is led by Allie. In our second quarterly challenge, Out of the Comfort Zone, you are invited to choose your own adventure to expand your reading into the unknown. This challenge is led by Carmen.

We also have two new monthly challenges for November with the theme of Glass. All About Glass, created by Debra Diggs and led by Sunny, is a prompt-based challenge based on facts about glass. The second challenge, Topaz Pizzazz, is a prompt-based challenge based on November’s birthstone. This challenge was created and is led by Sophia.

Do you have a great idea for a new challenge? Please let us know! Most of our quarterly and monthly challenges grow out of our members’ suggestions. We love hearing your creative ideas.

TBR Twins
Share a book with an online friend while knocking off a read from your TBR list!
You can sign up for December TBR Twins here, and we'll pair you with someone to read a book with next month. If you’ve signed up for November, your twins are posted here. Please reach out to your twin and choose a book to read together!

Buddy Reads
Let’s read some books together! Buddy reads are a great way to read and discuss a book together with fellow group members. This month we will have a total of 13 Buddy Reads!

We are starting the following stand-alone books:
The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story, The Book Eaters, Boy’s Life, The Count of Monte Cristo, How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents, I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and The Princess Bride.

We will start or continue the following series:
Alex Cross #18: Kill Alex Cross, A Court of Thorns and Roses #1, Shetland Island #5: Dead Water, A Song of Ice and Fire #4: A Feast for Crows, and Vera Stanhope #6: Harbour Street.

If you would like to join any, please follow the link and let your buddies know you will be joining the read!
