Book2Dragon Tom Hanks will play Otto, and yes Fredrick Backman is the writer. See details on imdb.

M C There is a Swedish film made in 2015 that is quite good, I'd highly recommend it. I was a little bummed to see that they change the name. Tom Hanks is great but I'm not sure he'll be able to capture the curmudgeon that is Ove.

I agree about the name change. I saw a book in Target and it had the name change in the title!
