40 - A Book By an Author With the Same Initials as You

Thank you! I don't know why they weren't on any of the 3 lists I saw online. That's perfect. I appreciate you looking that up.

I just stumbled upon this website that might be helpful! You can search for authors by first name, so if your name is Nadine, you could search for Nancys and Normans, etc ... It's not foolproof (searching for "Nadine" gave me a list of authors named Alice ... ) but it might help.

I could have also read Douglas Coupland, but I don't like his books.

I'm also a JW - these are the ones I've found so far:
Jo Walton
Jen Wang
J.R. Ward
Jennifer Foehner Wells (if you just go by first and last)
Jeff Wheeler
Jen Wilde
Jen Williams
Jeri Westerson
Jeanette Winterson
Jacqueline Woodson
Janny Wurts

Thanks!

Thanks!"
Malinda Lo

Keturah and Lord Death

Also Jeannette Walls, if you haven't read Glass Castle!

Kylie Lee Baker - The Keeper of Night
Kelly Barnhhill - When Women Were Dragons
Kalynn Bayron
Koa Beck - White Feminism: From the Suffragettes to Influencers and Who They Leave Behind
Katarina Bivald - The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend

I found several in my GR shelves:
Susan Dennard
Sunyi Dean

I may skip the P (sorry mom) and read some Dostoievsky? Or I may skip my 1st name and read Daniel Pennac."
There's also Felicia Day's memoir, You're Never Weird on the Internet

Ken Follett!

I really like the Rick McIntyre book I mentioned but I kind of want to go a different route since I'm too familiar with Rick's work."
Robert K. Massie writes excellent nonfiction!
There's also Russell Means's autobiography
and Rita Moreno: A Memoir

The Half-Drowned King or its sequels by Linnea Hartsuyker
Flying Solo by Linda Holmes

Wikipedia offered up the childhood mainstay of Amelia Bedelia ([auth..."
Haven't read this yet, but [book:The Messy Lives of Book People|57938945] by Phaedra Patrick is on my TBR shelf.

Anyone have any suggestions for either AS or AM?"
Haven't necessarily read any of these, but from my Want to Read shelf:
Lucia's Measure by Angela Malone
Ellen Outside the Lines by A.J. Sass
The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding
History Is All You Left Me or They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

I really like the Rick McIntyre book I mentioned but I kind of want to go a different route since I'm too familiar with Rick's work."
The one nonfiction book with an RM author I have on my list is Gentlemen of Uncertain Fortune: How Younger Sons Made Their Way in Jane Austen's England by Rory Muir!

For LH, Lawrence Hill - The Book of Negroes or The Illegal are relatively recent Canadian classics, or I quite enjoyed Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand.
I got lucky on this one, as I share initials with Popsugar's listmaker, so it probably will be a Jasmine Guillory for me!

I have Incense and Sensibility by Sonali Dev (or any of that author's works really) and Westering Women by Sandra Dallas on my TBR!

Guess I'm reading Leaves of Grass"
I don't know what kind of books you're into, but I have The End of Temperance Dare by Wendy Webb on my TBR shelf!

Jo Walton
Jesmyn Ward

Jacqueline Woodson

Barbara Cleverly, I just read Fall of Angels, which was excellent, but she has lots to choose from.

Kevin Hearne is a fairly popular sci-fi/fantasy author.

I have these authors on my TBR but haven't read them yet, just throwing them out as ideas:
Kerstin Hall
Kiki Hamilton

Kameron Hurley
YOU GUYS!!! I just learned that you can (kinda sorta) search for authors by their initials on Goodreads!!!
In the search field, type the initials (like "K H") and click on "author" for the search. It's not 100% reliable, but it should give you some good results. For example, "K H" got me Helen Keller and Laurell K Hamilton as well as Kristin Hannah & Kristin Harmel. So you just have to filter out the "backwards" ones. (Or, decide to use them! It doesn't say it has to be your initials in the correct order!!!)

If you want to go the children’s or middle grade route there’s Kevin Henkes.
For more adult fare there’s Kim Harrison (paranormal/urban fantasy) and Kristin Hannah.

This is so useful! I still can't find anything I want to read though.

Robin, I will make a note of her, but I found an obscure, hopefully funny, book by Barry Crump called Wild Pork and Watercress.

Yeah I didn't find anything better than the author I already had pencilled in for myself, but I had NO IDEA this feature even existed on GR!!! Someone in the FB group casually mentioned it.

I'm thinking I'll maybe just pick up one by B.A. Paris

Becky Albertalli and Ben Aaronovitch are the only ones I can think of.

Kass, as far as finding them, you could always go to your local library, look at the shelves under last name beginning with B and see if any of those authors' first name start with a K :D And perhaps you'll find your KB :D
