Teri (teria) | 1554 comments I'm going back to my grade school days. I read a lot once I learned how to read, but the first book that hit all the feels for me was Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. I read it several times back then, but I've been wanting to read it as an adult. Seems like a good opportunity.

The Night Circus is what first came to mind, so that is my second option. Maybe I'll read both.

Lilith (lilithp) | 1073 comments I went wayyy back to childhood, and read The Children's Bells by Eleanor Farjeon.
That book of poetry influenced so much of my life, from my love of books and poetry, to writing poetry, to publication. Even my college major (Folklore and Mythology) is rooted there.
It was fabulous to read it again! It has always held up. I can still recite some of her Iliad based poems, and the poems influenced by Welsh mythology .

Anshita (_book_freak) | 268 comments I read Funny Boy in my first year of college, it was the first piece of queer literature I had ever read. I read that 9 years ago and I want to read it again.

I've been wondering if anyone else interpreted it this way. It didn't feel quite right to me for it to be a re-read given that the prompt right before it is a re-read, but my friends who are also doing the challenge didn't see it my way. I at least like the idea of choosing how to interpret it for each individual and if re-reads aren't your thing, then maybe this interpretation works better for you.

Ashley Marie | 1028 comments I just finished a reread of The Da Vinci Code and I truly wish I could have a do-over first-time read of this book. I vividly remember the enthusiasm when it was released, and that whole cultural phenomenon still colors my memory of reading it multiple times as a teen, to the point where it's immensely difficult to separate memories and feelings from this reread. I want to be so much more objective than I am with this one.
