I'm looking forward to following your challenge--enjoy!

Klowey | 671 comments Your BINGO is very impressive. I hope my The Death of Ivan Ilyich lives up to it. I commented in my review the time during which I read it. It was very meaningful. :-)

I'm also reading The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition for my O1: Book Published before 1900

You have terrific choices. You are in for a great year, enjoy!

Shirley (stampartiste) | 1008 comments You have so many great books on your bingo card, Matt. I have read several of them and want to read others you've listed. I have to join Klowey and Greg and say that The Death of Ivan Ilych is one of my favorite books as well (I've read it twice!). Wishing you a lot of enjoyable time reading.

message 16: by Lori (new)

Lori Keeton | 1498 comments I read The Godfather last year and surprisingly really liked it! I gave it 5 guilty pleasure stars not literary ones! I thought it followed the movie so well.

And then if you can find the series on Paramount + (I think that's where it's at) called The Offer, it's about the making of the movie and I highly recommend it. SO good! Not a documentary.

message 17: by Cynda (new)

Cynda | 5201 comments Matt you are an ambitious reader! The whole of Complete works as just one selection here. Impressive.

I am disappointed that you didn't love Angle of Repose, but it clicked off a bingo square at least.

It is often where we are and what we are bringing to the table at the moment that make a book sing or flop, Matt. I must have been in just the right spot when I read it.

Always nice to have a plan, Matt. Congrats on the Bingo. Did you enjoy The President's Lady? I remember loving it, but being quite young and "romantic" at the time.

message 31: by Cynda (new)

Cynda | 5201 comments Looking good Matt! I'm going to remember Peter Pan as an option to nominate for our New Reads. I want to revisit the classocs of my childhood as comfort reads.

I wanted to get to Watership Down this year, but may have to push it to 2024. I'm so glad to see you loved Dr. Zhivago. I loved it as well and also watched the film shortly after. The film was wonderful too.

Only 8 books to go is a very good place to be at the first of September. You'll have a Blackout, no problem. : )
