I noticed quite a few books had been under the wrong author. The initials should not have a space between them. I think I got all of them under the right P.O. Dixon but if you see one under P. O. Dixon let me know. :-)

This may be an Amazon thing but I’m reading a new author’s book that just came out yesterday. Parts of it are highlighted as if I had highlighted sections to share on goodreads. Obviously I haven’t. I don’t usually see others’ highlights so I wonder if something is going on with the book.

It’s Unmasked by Roy Neville and it’s pretty good but these gray areas are irritating.

Can you give us a location? I have that book but I am not very far into it yet.

It’s all through the book at various locations. Ugh, it doesn’t have chapter breaks but location 2550 is the last one.

It sounds like you have the “popular highlights” enabled on your Kindle. Go to your font settings, then select ‘more’ and scroll down until you see the “popular highlights “ and turn them off. Right now your seeing all parts that have been highlighted by a lot of people.

I have KU so I downloaded it to see what you were talking about, it looks like it is a format issue on the publishing side, almost like they had highlighted some parts during the process and never removed the highlights. It's like when I highlight something in Word and then convert to a PDF, the highlight is there and can't be removed. (Well, unless you have a Pro edition and can edit)

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that the author and publisher did not go back and adjust the formatting.

Thank you. I’m not familiar with the publishing process so that was interesting. I’m going to mention it, not in a negative way, in my review.

I have seen that before too and it was also in an ARC I recently read. I assumed it was a formatting bug. But it did make me wonder if the files weren't checked before publishing.

I think it because it is so light that it is easy to miss when reviewing but it is an easy fix for Kindle versions, just send an update out and it fixes it for everyone who has purchased it already. It is less likely that won't get caught before going to print. I may be mistaken but I think the two version use two different formats so that is why one would be caught and the other missed.
