Imagine a world where your soul took a form of an animal and where your companion, which only you could talk to. "The Golden Compass" by Philip Pullman, is a book about a girl named Lyra who seeks out to find her uncle, and give him a Golden Compass which contains special powers. In my opinion it was a great book, I loved learning about a completely new world and the book never kept you bored. I recommend this book to people ages 9 and up, especially for those who love si-fi fantasy. The author has also written books like; "The Subtle Knife" " Amber Spyglass". Philip Pullman has won awards like; Carnegie of Carnegies,Whitbread Award, and the Astrid Lindgren Award.
