Ready to start Week #44: The Last Illusion. I am back on track!
I might even finish ATY after all.

Anyway ... I love reading in order. I find I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed when choosing books. There are just so many I want to read. So focusing on the next prompt helps me decide with less decision fatigue. I will read in order again next year, with rare exceptions made to juggle library holds.
I'm fairly on track for this year. I mixed up where I was and started #48 instead of #46 but I'm enjoying it, so sticking with it. I'll go back and continue on with 46 next. Oh, I and I skipped the Western prompt so I will have to figure that out.
#1-#44 - complete.
November
#45 - The Secret History (done)
#46 - A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking
#47 - Every Last Fear OR The Atlas Paradox (undecided, I have both)
#48 - The Kaiju Preservation Society (currently reading)
I got October done early but I haven't finished any of November's prompts yet. I'm hoping to get ahead so I'm not down to the wire at the end of December.

40. A book with a full name in the title - The Haunting of Maddy Clare
41. A book from the NPR “Books We Love” lists - House of Hunger
42. A book related to a ghost, spirit, phantom, or specter - The House on Tradd Street
43. A book that involves a murder - Still Life
44. A book where the cover design includes text that is not completely horizontal - The Fangs of Freelance
I'm also ahead for November, I have already finished week 45 and am working on week 46.
45. A book whose author has published more than 7 books - Cujo
46. A title that contains a word often found in a recipe - The Lost Art of Mixing
47. A book related to a geometric shape - Great Circle
48. A book with an unusually large version of an animal in the story - Remarkably Bright Creatures
For December I've done some rearranging, like I did for October, so I can read holiday books. It may mean reading out of order but I'm okay with that since it's still within the month, which was my goal.

November books:
#45 A Distant View of Everything starting
#46 A Dash of Salt and Pepper on hold
#47 The Stone Circle on desk
#48 The Kaiju Preservation Society not yet requested
For December, I have books planned and am sure of the ones for week #49 and week #50. However the last two are possibles only. I will probably pick something else unless I feel more sure of my planned lists.

44. A book where the cover design includes text that is not completely horizontal: Willowman - reading now
45. A book whose author has published more than 7 books: To the Land of Long Lost Friends
46. A title that contains a word often found in a recipe: The Covenant of Water
47. A book related to a geometric shape: The Circle of Reason
48. A book with an unusually large version of an animal in the story: Moby Dick (will I finish this? It will be my 3rd attempt!)

Currently finishing up my Western that I kept putting off choosing, and then had to wait for my library hold. Open Season It's Western-ish and I'm enjoying it so far.
And then I just have one last book (#51The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi) to read to complete this years challenge. When I listened to Sh*t my Dad says for an earlier read-a-thon, I slotted this into #52 because it was too perfect for unusual/surprising!!
I'm happy with my reading in order, I mostly stuck to the weekly plan and only intentionally got a bit ahead because I wasn't sure how much reading I'd have time for in December.
I'm planning on reading in order (with exceptions made to juggle library holds) again next year!!
Wising everyone the best in finishing up your challenges over the next few weeks.

This is the same for me! I'm currently reading my unusual title, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, because I wanted to finish it before I start my Christmas reads. Weeks 50 and 51 both are Christmas books that I'll read at some point during December.

My selection for #48 (The Kaiju Preservation Society) has been requested but is not yet available.
My December plan (all books requested):
#49: All Systems Red
#50: Magic Shifts
#51: Suddenly a Murder - This is a NEW book and is currently being catalogued. Hopefully the wait list is not too long.
#52: The Trouble with Goats and Sheep - On my desk and due 12/2. I will read this one out of order but in month planned, just so I finish this challenge.

Despite not fully reading on the week the book was due, I will be finishing this year's challenge. So excited!

Starting December today. Have 3 books left since I read #52 early in December. (It had to go back to the library!)

Eve and Christmas Day, so expect to finish with no issues despite the fact that my last two books are long...
Still to read:
50 - The Performance
51 - Return to Valetto
52 - Illywhacker
All Australian!

I finished! I liked doing it by month, where the prompts for that month could be done in any order but I couldn't move on past them until that month was done. I would recommend that as a strategy for people wanting to go in order but still have flexibility.
