Claire | 163 comments just wondering how other people tab their books

JJ (✨Taylor’s Version✨) | 35 comments I like to match my tabs to the cover of my book sometimes, but usually I just associate a certain color with a certain feeling of the thing I want to tab.

j ✦ | 7 comments i try to match the tab color (i only use one) to the color / vibe of the cover, and i don’t color code them like a lot of people do tbh. i just mark whatever i feel like marking, it makes reading through them more fun :)

Kaylee Good | 5 comments mine are based off the color of the cover. i try to make the topics i put with the tabs based off things about the book. for example; reviews, the little preview on the back of the book, and so on. like for november 9 by colleen hoover. i have 5 separate tabs
1. relatable
2. sad
3. confusing
4. reminders (reminding me of certain thing. more for myself)
5. i mean okkkk (yk those moments where you’re like “okayyyyyy” in either a bad or a good way)

Ray | 1 comments i match the colours to the cover so i can display the tabs out and so it doesnt look like a unicorn vomited all over my book.

katie ♡ | 22 comments I like to create an annotation card with 6-7 different themes, the tabs match the book colors :) i typically would look up an annotation key for the book for inspiration for my own titles, but the super standard one i use is:

- important to story
- crazy plot moment
- funny moment
- foreshadowing / future
- cute/love this moment
- slay moment yass
- sad moment

summer⁎ ˚ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ i usually color coordinate as best as i can, but i don't do it for every book. i tab usually the books that i find are "most important" (like beach read or love and other words for example). and in the past i've used more tabs, for subjects like each of the main characters & their progression, on top of them being together, plot points, fav quotes, sad/conflict, but ive downsized and use any color for anything really!

Sophie van Benten | 4 comments I usually have a color coded system. For romance books for example I use five colors:
Orange - tension
Pink - romance/spice
Yellow - funny/happy
Green - annoying
Blue - sad
So when I look at my book after finishing it I can directly go back to specific feelings I had while reading. I’m also someone who loses interest quite fast, so when I color it by feelings I’m reading more actively and also actually remember what I was reading. :)
