Singletons

Maybe not, but it's close.

Happy New Year! May you and yours have a Wonderful 2023!!"
Thanks Nyssa. Best wishes for your year as well.

My page count is slightly exaggerated, though, as I only read two of the five stories this year.

Woohoo! Off to a great start!
I always run into the omnibus conundrum. I usually end up deleting the omnibus from GR and adding the individual books but sometimes I just don't feel like it. LOL

I used to do that (which is why I have a "separated omnibuses" shelf). I wanted the number of books read to be reflected correctly. I have a minimum of four omnibuses slated for this year (including The Great Book of Amber); separating everything feels like too much trouble now. LOL So, I'll just let it be.

This weekend (including MLK day yesterday), I watched:
Will Trent [HULU] ~ Only two episodes were available at the time, but they are already fun. You know, if you find kidnapping and murder fun. LOL, I am still warming up to the characters.
Reacher [Amazon Prime ] ~ I binged Season 1. I enjoyed the characters and the moments of levity. The lead actor emotes well (and is not bad on the eyes at all!) The show is based on a series by Lee Child (The first book is Killing Floor); interestingly enough, I put the book on my wishlist on Christmas day and forgot. Ha.
I am looking forward to Season 2.
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan ~ [Amazon Prime] ~ I rebinged Season 1. Enjoyed it just as much as the last time. I am currently watching Season 2. I like watching John Krasinski as Jack. I don't know if I want to read the books, though. I am glad Season 3 is already out.
I also tried Alert: Missing Person Unit [HULU]. But 1. Scott Caan is not a good actor! He's basically playing the same character from Hawaii Five-O. He has a wooden style. 2. I do NOT like the twist they're going with (view spoiler) ; it completely rubbed me the wrong way. So, I do not think I will be watching a second episode.

I've been watching some TV while I do my big cleanout. Speaking of Hawaii, I watched the available episodes of NCIS: Hawai'i and I really like it! I love Jason Antoon in it. Watched some other stuff too but I'm about to pull my hair out because the web site version of Paramount+ doesn't save my progress most of the time. It seems to do fine in the AndroidTV app that I have on my Shield in Florida, but on the web site it's just useless.

If, at some point, all of the seasons are available for all of the shows (without costing a million bucks), I might try to do a mega rewatch of the whole franchise.

In the books Will Trent is less assertive and I would almost say more autistic. The books are grittier than the tv series. Going by the trailer and teasers I was afraid they would go for a more humorous approach, but I'm glad they didn't. Sonja Sohn is cast perfectly as Amanda.

Why are you trying to make my TBR even longer!?! LOL
I like Sonja Sohn; I'm still trying to warm up to the woman who plays Faith, though.
Spacechik wrote: "Will Trent I find refreshing. It kinda steals from Perry Mason but they are both good. I like both. Reacher is good. Waiting for season 2 was hard. I'll have to rewatch Season 1. I quit NCIS just b..."
I'm not showing Season 2 of Reacher yet. I hope to see it soon!
I think the 3rd episode of Will Trent came out on HULU this morning. I'm going to check after work.

I just watched it. It was good!

I think the actress who plays Faith is okay. In the books she more bossy/mothery, but I can't remember if she was like that from the start.
I'm tempted to do a reread, but my TBR is probably as long as yours.

If you decide to give it a go, I'll join you. :)

It's so busy/distracting.

It's so busy/distracting."
I'm jealous that you got to keep the old one as long as you did. I got permanently switched to the beta early and only got a reprieve when they temporarily changed it back due to issues. I've kind of gotten used to it but I still don't like it.

Yeah, you don't see it on the review near the top which is disappointing, but you can see those numbers if you can find your review in the top-whatever is listed.
Just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling.
I have so few reviews I've written that have garnered any likes it was easy to find an example for me.

Yeah, I don't see that either. You have to click the date to go to the actual review page to see any comments, etc.

Like, THAT is freaking intuitive!?! **Rolls eyes**
Thanks, Christa!

Thanks, Christa!"
You're welcome! And yeah, that's so unintuitive. The only reason I realized it was because I used to use the dates on comments to get a hyperlink for them.

It's oddly entertaining, isn't it!?!

I voted! (I went with one I'm looking forward to reading soon. :D )

Thank you, friend! :)

Then I decided to take a much-needed break. It was painful seeing my daily counter drop to zero.
However, since I didn't stop reading completely, the tracker still shows me at 66 weeks in a row. I hope to keep that one going, even if it means scheduling my electronic reading for one or two days a week.

If I am content when I go to sleep at night it was a good day.

My week streak was at 177 when I lost it earlier this month. I thought it would bother me but it didn't.

Strong, lady! :)
I can not believe it has been a month since my last update!
I have now been reading for 72 weeks in a row, and I am at 32 days straight in an effort to earn the Kindle challenge bookmarks.
I got a few titles under my belt this month (not sure how many, though).
I am officially behind in all of my buddy/group reads except for The Great Book of Amber, which I caught up on today by finishing The Hand of Oberon.
I finally finished Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience; it is a fascinating book; however, don't try to read it as a novel. I'd suggest treating it more like a textbook on emotions.
I hope to finish Big Jack next. It is a side novel of the In Death Series. I am about halfway through.
After that comes The Maid as my hold came through from the library, and I will also continue reading Educated (I want to be shocked, but I find myself shaking my head).

My Year 2023 in Books
I have a few goals this year:
1. Read a minimum of 48 titles. (My average from 2011 through 2022 was 42)
2. Read many of the books on my personal, physical bookshelf. Goal: 25% (16 of 35)
3. Complete or Catch Up on a few previously started series. (10 of 10)
4. Continue with the Amazon Original Stories Collections. (0)
