Amber 2022’s list that I made myself ended up being really hard for me to finish because of how many giant books I included. So I’ve tried to pick books for 2023 that are a little shorter overall, with a few tomes thrown in, hopefully I will get to them too!

1. The City of Brass
2. There There
3. Little Women
4. Skin Hunger
5. Parable of the Sower
6. A Sky Beyond the Storm
7. The Goblin Emperor
8. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
9. The Handmaid's Tale
10. The Morning Gift
11. Station Eleven
12. The High Mountains of Portugal

1. The Lies of Locke Lamora
2. The Wrath and the Dawn
3. Pachinko
4. The Shadow of the Wind

Ooohh; now this is a nice list, Amber!

Station Eleven is a quick read; not my favorite, but it was good.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer is hilarious. That little boy was a whole mess. smh

Parable of the Sower has great pacing and will go by fast. You will notice so many similarities between the time of the book and the state of the world now. It's creepy

I hope you have a better time this upcoming year and get to enjoy all of your books.

Good luck and happy reading!

I've enjoyed a few of your selections, Station Eleven, Tom Sawyer, The Handmaid's Tale. I have read other books by Butler and enjoyed as well. Good luck with all of your selections.

Lea (leaspot) | 3640 comments I always want to read the long books, but too many of them in a row can be a bit wearying. This list looks like a nice mix, though, so hopefully it feels that way to you also. I have read Little Women, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Handmaid's Tale, Station Eleven, Pachinko and The Shadow of the Wind, and liked them all. I hope you enjoy all your choices!
