Greetings Lovers of Paranormal!

Harry Dresden isn't an ordinary wizard, but one of the most addictive kick-butt heroes to grace the paranormal scene in like ... forever!

Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher Jim Butcher

"For Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, business, to put it mildly, stinks. So when the police bring him in to consult on a grisly double murder committed with black magic, Harry's seeing dollar signs. But where there's black magic, there's a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry's name..."

Are you reading Storm Front? Why not shout it out in the discussion thread below, post your thoughts as you read the book, and share links to your reviews when you are done. Just be kind and use the SPOILER .html so you don't ruin the fun for somebody who isn't as far along.

Be epic!

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments I read this book a long time ago, and loved it! Of course, I love Harry Dresden, and can't wait for the next book (hurry up, Jim! :P). (SPOILER ALERT) I'm glad he and Karrin are FINALLY trying to get together, but it would have been nice to see him with Molly, too. Either that, or have her find someone she actually CAN be with and finally get over Harry! Just once, I wish Jim would let his characters have a happy ending. :P

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments I also recently discovered (and downloaded) the first book in a new series similar to the Harry Dresden files. I haven't read the book yet, but if it's anything at all like Harry Dresden's adventures, I'm going to love it! Y'all might want to check it out yourselves. It's called Afterworld: The Orion Rezner Chronicles by Michael James Ploof.

Diane Stollery | 1 comments Harry is a much loved character of mine . At times he is his own worse enemy and I get frustrated at times with him. Great series , hope you all enjoy them as much as I did .

Carmen (bindingthepages) | 60 comments I am apparently ahead of the monthly read because I finally read this last month lol. I really liked it! I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. No spoilers: I laughed so many times while reading this. I really hope that everyone who is reading it this month enjoys it!

Jenn Can I ask, is this the first book with Harry Dresden? The name is sooo familiar, I feel like I've read something else with him in it

Yes it is. I also read it a long time ago. Maybe I'll re-read it. There also was a short lived SyFy series loosely based on the books, which I used to watch.

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments I used to watch it too, every week. :) I miss that show! Now the guy who played Harry in the show plays on Arrow as Laurel's dad.

Carmen (bindingthepages) | 60 comments I also watched the television adaptation! I believe that it is still on Netflix. I know it was there as of the end of November of last year.

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments Can't afford Netflix, so that lets me out. :P But I can still see him on Arrow, so at least I get my Paul Blackthorne fix. :D I would love to be able to get the books for the Dresden RPG as well, but again no money, so that will definitely have to wait for a while. I know from personal experience how hard it is to write a story so I know it's too long of a process to publish them as often as we would like, but I wish there would be more than one book a year, because the wait in between books is way too long! :P

Emma Shelford (emmashelford) | 3 comments I absolutely adore all the Dresden books! The characters are amazing, and the plot is so fast-paced. I wonder when the next one will come out... I haven't heard anything yet.

Jenn I did some searching after reading all your posts and all this time I knew the cop on Arrow looked so familiar and I couldn't figure out why, until I looked at the Sci-fi channel and then it all clicked. I never watched whole series but did watch a couple episodes. Now that I know I have to read the books. Thanks guys for all the info so I could figure it out:)

The last Dresden Files book that was released, THREE of my friends all blocked out the weekend on their calendars and told everybody NOT to disturb them until they read the latest Dresden Files book!

That is some serious devotion that I haven't seen since Harry Potter!

Michael Pang (michaelpang) | 2 comments The entire series is absolutely amazon. Jim Butcher makes the most witty and likeable characters, and villains really pisses me off. There's a lot of snark coming from Harry Dresden, but yet there is so much heart! The fight scenes are always well written. If you have not read any of the Dresden Files books yet, you need to start!
