The length is why I took a pass on the Bruce book. Same with Barbara Streisand. I like her music/acting but not 900 page book worth ! For me, that size is more for a presidential bio

I want to read Streisand's book - I might just buy it which I rarely do-99.9% of my books come from the library. But I could read my own copy at a leisurely pace.

I find these longer autobiography/memoir books are perfect for fans, so the length probably doesn't daunt them. And i believe readers are treated to the details they've long wanted.

Still, i am not such a fan that i want that much about any celebrity. Having read numerous biographies over the years, however, i know historians and future biographers are going to be very grateful these artists took the time & effort to share their sides of the stories. And fans will continue to be glad they have such reference books to their favorites.

Julie, are there photos in the book? I've had a mixed result with bios and photos, some eBooks don't include them in their edition. For me, i prefer them to be part of the book but i can also look up specifically referenced photos, if need be.

Yes, that is what I do if I have really big books or ones that are more involved like history.

Definitely history, for me.

I don't remember except for the book cover. Unfortunately, I donated it to the library's free shelf after reading it!

What a wonderful but sad story about Mitch Albom who with his wife befriend an orphan girl named Chika in Haiti at their Have Faith Haiti Orphanage. Unfortunately, she becomes quite ill and Albom and his wife try to get her treated medically and hopefully cured of her condition.

Thanks, Julie. I like that you donated to your library. In Maryland we had a library with a donation shelf & it was such a joy to give & get books there.

The Albom book sounds sad but one can imagine the good parts. I suppose it also looks into healthcare here & in Haiti. Thanks for sharing about this one.

This is a science fiction novel by Philip K. Dick. It surrounds Glen Runciter, businessman who has people who work for him that are preventing psychic spies accessing data from his clients. However, Runciter is injured, and now time is moving backwards. His groups are trying to reverse his condition and how the product Ubik is involved. Very interesting!

Last book of 2023!
