Monthly Challenge: January 2023

Welcome to our first monthly Listopia Madness challenge. It is a relatively simple challenge. Every month you will get 3 listopia lists from me and 3 from the winners of the previous month. As this is the first month, I will be choosing all 6 lists.

How it works
📘You will read as many books as you want from as many of the lists provided as you want.
📘You will score each book using the point system provided below
📘You will keep a running tally of your total in your post (try to keep your books in one comment, if possible for easy tracking)
📘I will contact the 3 highest-scoring readers at the end of the month and they will each choose one listopia list to be included in the next month's challenge.

Challenge rules:
📘No graphic novels, poetry or cookbooks allowed.
📘Standard Rules Apply

Donna! These 2 lists go to someones votes on the list. Is that intentional?

📘Best Characters who are in their 20s
📘Best Unappreciated Books

No, but thank you. They are fixed now ; )

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 3811 comments I find it highly amusing to scroll through the YA list and see thousands of entries that are definitely not YA :D

Well, you just reminded me that this existed Sammy! I'm thinking I'll have to try again next month... I don't think I have the patience to go back through the lists before my vacation! Gah!

message 16: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 3811 comments You're welcome, lol.

I suspect most people have forgotten. happens all the time with challenges. It's the reason I've set up a private group for myself with different threads for all the challenges I'm doing. makes life so much easier!
Each time I finish a book, I just follow the links to my challenge posts and update them :)

Oh this is GENIUS! I may copy you. I told myself I was going to do LESS challenges this year, so I didn't feel crazy... but so far, it's not going well....

message 18: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 3811 comments hahahah! Yeah, I tell myself that all the time... At one point I was doing so many, it was taking me over an hour to update them all every time. I decided that was a good time to scale back a bit. I about halved them, but I'm still doing rather a lot... :D

message 19: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 3811 comments OCD tip: If you do challenges in more than one group, you can set up different folders for each one. It doesn't really matter in the end, but having everything tidied away in the right folder makes me happy, lol.

I also add any useful challenge info as comments in the induvidual challenge threads, just to have everything on one page (as with challenges, the rules can be on page 1, and your post on page 23, and going back and forth to check stuff can be a pain, lol)

You are making my OCD happy. I have been just using a multi sheet SS in Google sheets, because I love SS, but I still find I forget to add something and it gets lost!
