My copy of Remnant Population arrived, but at the same time more library books I ordered arrived. 2 of them had long cues so I wasn’t expecting them to come so soon.
One is a book called The Change which I’d originally thought of for this prompt before I found out about Remnant Population. I’m not sure I will count it as the lead characters are woman who have just gone through menopause.
I’m not quite sure if what is considered a crone. I’ve been though menopause and think I’d be annoyed if someone referred to me as a crone ;) but anyway I’ll probably be starting Remnant Population a week later than I thought.

Meanwhile, I turned 40 in May and fully feel like a crone. :)

I read The Change for this challenge and thought it fit well. It addresses (with varying degrees of success) society's attitudes to post-menopausal women.

I started this morning and agree 100% it fits! I’m enjoying it very much!

I guess how we perceive crone is relative. I think traditionally it is mean to be a strong wise woman, but in our youth oriented society it’s used as an insult.
