Carolyn | 2081 comments I loved Michelle Prak's debut thriller The Rush by Michelle Prak The Rush, dark, gritty Aussie noir!

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished reading Twice Shy by Dick Francis. I read this years ago, in the early 1980's I think not long after it was published. I remembered the basic story line - and it was very high tech computing (for the time), going into quite a bit of detail about programming computers - nothing dates a story quite like latest tech that is now obsolete tech! But still, was a fun re-read.

You're right Kerri - I think I read it back around the same time. They were always a fun read :)

Carolyn | 2081 comments Six Ostriches by Philipp Schott Six Ostriches by Philipp Schott, a not quite cosy mystery featuring a quirky veterinarian was as much fun as the first in the series (Fifty-Four Pigs)

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry - 3.5 *.

Interesting story of a woman's life in Ireland whose life is drastically changed by the decisions of the local Catholic priest. Sad and tragic but well-written.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Under the Knife by Tess Gerritsen - 3*.

Easy to read, fast-paced, but far-fetched, medical and romantic suspense where several doctors and nurses were being murdered.

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments I always enjoy acclaimed Aussie author Jane Harper's books, and I was glad that Aaron Falk's last outing in Exiles was such a worthy finale. I still hope she might revisit him one day.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Hardcase by Bill Pronzini - 3.5*.

A Nameless private detective takes on the search for the birth parents of an adopted young woman and finds out some disturbing information. Good suspense but not as much mystery as I would've liked.

Carolyn | 2081 comments This was a fun cosy mystery, set in post war Paris. A young American woman in Paris befriends Julia Childs and becomes involved in investigating a murder outside Julia's apartment. Julia is currently learning how to cook at Le Cordon Bleu, so of course there is mention of some classic French recipes along the way.

Kerri_M | 785 comments Just finished A World of Curiosities by Louise Penny.

I love this series, but I think this is one of the best in the series, gave me a feeling of dread from page 1 - and it stayed with me all the way through

A World of Curiosities (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #18) by Louise Penny ★★★★☆

Carolyn | 2081 comments Many reviewers loved this but unfortunately it's just not for me - too many unlikeable characters who make poor choices.

Carolyn | 2081 comments Murder in the Scottish Hills (The Scottish Ladies' Detective Agency #2) by Lydia Travers Murder in the Scottish Hills by Lydia Travers is the second of this delightful historical cosy crime series.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to St. Patrick's Day Murder by Leslie Meier - 3.5*

Light, fun mystery and a touch of suspense about the murder of a bar owner in small town Maine. Lots of references to Ireland and Irish culture.
