Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Silence of the Grave by Arnaldur Indridason - 4*.

A well-written, if dark, police procedural and domestic abuse situation that drew me in and kept me reading to find out who was the murder victim.

Carolyn | 2081 comments If you're looking for something a little different in crime fiction this might just be it; a school for murderers - not assassins, just people who want to kill their employer. Written by musician and producer Rupert Holmes. Quirky and fun.

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments The Torrent by Dinuka McKenzie is set in the aftermath of the NSW Northern Rivers floods, where the mother of a flood victim says he was murdered. Good story with a great new detective, heavily pregnant Kate Miles (as if she didn't have enough to worry about).
The Torrent (Detective Kate Miles #1) by Dinuka McKenzie 4★ My review of The Torrent

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments If the rest of award-winning Irish author Sebastian Barry's books are as good as his latest, Old God's Time, I've got some great reads to look forward to. I loved Tom Kettle and his story. Barry writes with an Irish accent.
Old God's Time by Sebastian Barry 5★ My review of Old God's Time, more than half of which is Barry's wonderful writing (no spoilers).

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to The Postscript Murders by Elly Griffiths - 3*.

Part police procedural and part amateur sleuthing regarding murders of mystery authors, this book had likable characters but the the plot was a bit too similar to other books I've read.
