The Perks Of Being A Book Addict discussion

Thanks. I do find the reading and listening to audio books comforting. So I'll keep playing. My friend's funeral is this Saturday and we're having a celebration of life for her afterwards. Baking is another thing I find comforting so I volunteered to bring some brownies and cookies to that.

I think I need something light and humorous. The murder mysteries probably aren't helping. I'm going to peruse the humor section of my library.

I finished Stillhouse Lake this morning, so I have plenty of time to listen to The Butcher this month. I can also confidently say that I will be able to finish all of the books that I currently have listed on the log. Once all of those are finished, if there's still time, I'll see where we're at and see what else I can throw on. I just don't want to add anything else on the log or promise anything until I am sure I can complete something else. It seems like we're in a good place though :)

Do we still need a book for Arctic Hare? Or are there a couple in the works already?

It looks like Characteristic 3 is still open for Arctic Hare! So that one can be a repeat of the cover color or location if that's easier for you to match :)

We've covered all our tasks for the mini. We just have to finish them 😁💪.

Mary, if you have a cover for Peron's Tree Frog (Emerald Green, Grey, Brown, White, Yellow, Black) you can take that task. I have it and can do it but if you (or any other teammate) are available go ahead.

I listened to a book this morning that works for black cover.

I'm thinking that I'll be able to finish both of my current books this weekend... or maybe Monday at the latest. Are there things that we still need for this month? If so, anything specific or just more books to fill easy numbers? I can look for some short books to try to squeeze in, or just start some things that I can finish early in April. Let me know!

Me again. I just finished Black Cake so I should definitely be able to fit in another physical book this month if we need it. I'll probably start something tonight or tomorrow morning so let me know if there is something specific I need to take off someone's plate or just a certain number we are short on. If not, I'll just try to find something that works for a lot of numbers.

Hi all! I finished Sorrow & Starlight last night and Delilah Green today. I will finish the last book I claimed for the mini. I'm in the same place as Ashley, I will definitely be able to fit something else in by the end of the month so let me know if we need anything. If not, I will do my best to stop near the end so we can use it for next month. No promises though if I get on a roll lol

*** UPDATE ***

We are in pretty good shape, 22 more books to finish the main and 10 the mini. So if all books for the mini are finished on time we'll need 12 more for the main. All are easy cards. So maybe for now don't hold books for next month until we are sure we've covered this month.

April doesn't seem so bad, not to many 5's, 7's or reverse. Maybe too many greens but still manageable.

I can't seem to find this anywhere, but how does it work if an author has 3 names? I'm looking at starting a book by Jennifer Finney Boylan. Does that count for author name F?

Nothing specific, the cards pending are 0,2,3,4,6 and a wild, all very common ones. but we have 16 books listed on the log, so we still need five more on top of that.

I just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower on audio. I'll try to find something short that I can listen to and finish before the end of the month.

I am currently reading one and listening to another for the mini. So I should have those 2 books done by end of next week. The book I am reading is short so maybe I can get a 3rd short one done if we need it.

Can we get another update on books? Feels like we had a lot of books to finish with only a few days to go! I am going to try to finish my second book today and start another short book as we seem to be behind on reading this month.

I am working on 2 books currently. They are on the spreadsheet and I will finish them this month.

I got my prompts for my regular monthly challenge for April and some of them are very specific so I won't have a ton of wiggle room next month. I'll start my planning for April today and will try to find some books that work for my prompts and also some of the tricky things for UNO (colored cards, reverses, or 5/7).

I'm going to hold off on a couple of the longer books I have on the sheet and listen to some short cozy type books. Especially since one or 2 of the longer books work for reverse.

At this point I might save the last chapter of books until I know they'll be needed this month.

14 more books to finish the main, and we have 15 logged. Of those, 6 are for the mini and we're done. So as long as we finish everything we have on the list we'll be ok.

It might feel too tight, so if you are about to finish a book that is not for the mini and not logged go ahead and add it for this month, don't hold it. In case we see we have a little more room then we will hold other already logged books for next month, except the mini ones of course. I'll try to update daily until April starts.

Sarah D, one of your books on the UNO shelf is not logged, Stupid Cupid, read March 6th. Is it because doesn't qualify (graphic novel) or it was a mistake? Same with Happenstance.

Thanks for the update! That feels really tight but we can do it! Is everyone committed to the books on the log? I am going to finish my last one on the log today and try to squeeze in another before Friday.

Should we have any back-ups handy for the mini?

I'll keep knocking out some cozies, easy romances. I might try to finish Flashfire because I am enjoying the book. But I only have that in Ebook so will depend on if I have sit and read time.

All of my mini books are completed. I am currently reading both of the books I have listed on the main log and will finish them this month... but if we finish enough books before I'm done, I'm also totally fine with holding one of mine off and finishing on April 1st.

As of now, I'm going full speed ahead and will only hold off on finishing if Veronica tells us that we've officially completed our hands.

I'm on track to finish The Great Alone and The Butcher this month :) both count towards the mini. I don't have any concerns about finishing them in time.

No worries Sarah, good thing we catch it up just on time.

With the recent update made by Sarah D we are a lot less tight.

5 books to finish the mini. 6 to finish the main. So with the 5 of the mini that means only one more extra book.

It would be very helpful for each of you to list the books you are reading that are not for the mini, maybe mention how far are you into them, so we can decide which one will go to complete the main and keep the rest for next month.

I added the April log and April cards tabs to the spreadsheet.

I'm about 2/3rds through Flashfire and just started Death in the Park but it's short. I can always switch over to House on Needless Street to get a head start on a Reverse for next round.

I just finished an extra book and added to tracker. So that should make the last book besides the 5 minis we need. So looks like we are now in great shape!

What a turn around in a few days. Way to go team. I was sweating over here as seemed liked a lot of books to finish. Now I think I am going to start looking into April reads.

Okay, I'll plan to finish up my books on 4/1 then. I have most of my reads in April planned now. I think every book I currently have on my list will count for a colored cover or a reverse. Do we want to claim colored cards ahead of time for April, just to make sure we aren't scrambling for those at the end or reading too many of one thing? If not, that's totally fine I just didn't know if it might be easier to know what to focus on when trying to find something.

Speaking of points, are we not keeping track any more or competing against teams? Last year there was another spreadsheet with team points and I haven't seen that this year
