Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments I keep trying for blue...but it's always violet.

Ecept for this one Wild Horses (Steel City, #1) by Kate Pavelle

But I can't tell what numbers are needed for blue, or if it would qualify for one of our blue options. Idk why I can't see that on the spreadsheet.

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments Oh wait...I see it on the first page of the thread now.
We don't need blue.

That's a good idea for double duty, I will save the last chapters of my current books until then too.

I agree we should do one section at a time to maximize points, Brilliant. The first Part has less books. The second part has a few more, but the prompts seem easier.

My vote is for part one due as less #.

That one has a red cover. Also, reading Homecoming by Kate Morton as a buddy read with my sister. That one is set in Australia.... Yours Truly will be a quick read and then I'm sure I can help with a few more of these April minis!!

Stacey | 610 comments Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I know a few of you are really reading, and we have a great start to the mini.

So, how many of you are sad that UNO is almost over and have already signed up for Tower Teams?

message 476: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments I never knew of Tower Teams... I'm interested lol

message 477: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments Finished Island of Graves (Unwanteds, #6) by Lisa McMann

message 478: by Laura (new)

Laura H | 151 comments I'm excited to see how the cards play out, but a little sad to see UNO end. It's certainly more fun than the card game.
I'm not familiar with Tower teams either. not sure if I have another challenge in me, haha

message 479: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Stephie wrote: "I never knew of Tower Teams... I'm interested lol"
UNO was my first challenge, and still my favorite. TT is similar in that you have main goals and then usually some minis later. There aren't cards, but other tasks. You get point for the length of books, so for UNO, short books are great but for TT they cap the # of books per month (per group) to keep things fair, so longer books work better. You also get bonus points for participating in their discussions of the books of the month.

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I'm a bit tired, but still love playing so I'll just be a regular player for that one. You will see many of the captains, moderators, and long time UNO players there.

message 480: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments And now for a quick update. You all are amazing! We are just over 1/2 way through the month, and have 68% of our books read. In just 3 days, we have 26 of the 48 tasks in part 1 of the mini complete!

I would like to try to finish part 1 for completion, so if you are looking for books for the challenge, check that first. If you are reading a book that doesn't fit part 1, please use it for part 2. There are so many options, we can figure out how to make it work. If you need help, let us know and we can figure it out together.

message 481: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Another update. We have 78% of our cards completed! Great spot to be in. The only tricky cards are Green 5 and the Reverse.

For Part 1 of the mini we have 35/48 completed. The only tasks that haven't been claimed are:
- Set in May (or spring in general)
- Vampires
- White cover
- Green cover (can use the green 5 here)

So, if you read a book that wasn't for a task that you claimed and doesn't fit these, then it is time to look at part 2.

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments I have The Bachelor's Baby down as #28 on the mini...but it also fits as a white cover

So, how was your trip?

message 489: by bamaace83 (new)

bamaace83 | 257 comments It was so much fun. Ireland is amazing. My three favorite things were Blarney Castle, Christ Church and a little distillery called Roe and Co. We saw tons of cool things and ate and drank all the things. I need USA to catch up with technology because everywhere in Ireland had the card tap payer things and we can't say the same thing here. I mean even Kroger doesn't have tap and pay.

Stacey | 610 comments Hi all! Alma isn't sure that she can finish her yellow 5 card in time. Has anyone read a book that would work (or reading one now)? If not let me know if you would like to claim it.

Thanks!

message 493: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments We are in the last week of UNO! It has really flown by. The last day is Sunday, April 30.

We are in great shape, but may need some help. We only have 4 books left to read for our main hands, and all but 2 hands complete. We really only need to read 3. Let us know ASAP if you can't finish.

Green 6 - Stephanie
Yellow 5 - Up for grabs
WD4 - Charly (can use a Draw 2 for this if needed)
1 - Can use a Draw 2 for this, or move books around for Skey's book

For the mini - Part 1
We have 42 of the 48 complete
All have been claimed. Let us know if you can't complete so we can rearrange.

For the mini-Part 2
We have 14 complete with tons of slots open. If you need help figuring out how to use something, let us know.

Stacey | 610 comments Sorry for serial posting!

I am traveling for a conference, leaving today. Charly is here to help and I will try to check in, but won't be able to really do much until Saturday afternoon/evening. Plenty of time to wrap things up!

message 495: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments Sorry I haven't updated in a bit. I had a vacation last week. I did finish three books.

Tress of the Emerald Sea (The Cosmere) by Brandon Sanderson
Island of Dragons (Unwanteds, #7) by Lisa McMann
Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey

bamaace83 | 257 comments Thanks for adding my books! I was coming on tonight to spend time to do it. I just added three more books but I'm not that creative on figuring out where to put them in the mini. I should have a handful more books finished before the end of the month. I'm over here catching up challenges so I have random ones coming up. If we still need the yellow 5 let me know and I'll see what I can find.
