Hope you did like it. I read it a while back, but it stood out how simply yet thoroughly they explained a topic I knew practically nothing about. I would put it on a top ten list of nonfiction books

message 202: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments I enjoyed it but felt like it was all over the place. I was really interested in the ethical questions and science. I wish I went into science as a career.

Becky (velvetspade) | 62 comments Hey guys - I grabbed 1x color card that I know I'm going to read next month. I'll take a closer look this weekend when I really dive into March releases and see if I can help with one or two more! Can't believe it's almost March!

Also, for untouchable, I need to to mark it read and add it to your shelf. Thanks!"

I fixed the 2023 uno shelf, sorry. It's already marked read.

Charly Hart (charlyhart) | 212 comments I just finished Kings Cage. I’ll be starting on The Inheritance Games later today.

message 206: by Stacey (last edited Feb 23, 2023 02:23PM) (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Thanks Skye!

I'm thinking ahead. I'll let you all choose first, but I want to read
Parasite (Parasitology, #1) by Mira Grant which works for Red Skip
From Below by Darcy Coates which works for Blue 0 or 3, but may be best as a V/7 and..
The Donut Trap by Julie Tieu which works for Yellow 0

message 207: by Alma (new)

Alma (almamm) | 173 comments Done with Indigo Ridge and when we’re thirty.

message 208: by Becky (new)

Becky (velvetspade) | 62 comments I'm going to check back in tomorrow night before I pick my next read and make sure I have something we need for Feb. I probably only have one more book in me this month and I want to make sure it counts!!

message 209: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments I’m reading a book with a dragon on the cover. If someone reads one first, great! If not I’ll cover it

message 210: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments I can read this for Yellow 1 The Davenports (The Davenports, #1) by Krystal Marquis
I can read this for Blue 3 The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #3) by Rick Riordan
I can read this for Blue 0 Friday I'm in Love by Camryn Garrett (If it can count as blue

message 211: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Stephanie, I'm not sure about the blue 0, we would have to check as it is close to 50% but not sure if it makes it. The first two work.

message 212: by Charly (new)

Charly Hart (charlyhart) | 212 comments Hello Everyone!!! We wanted to let everyone know that we finished all our hands for February!! Congrats!! 🎈🎉🎊

Stacey is working on the mini challenge to get that updated.

Stacey | 610 comments We are really finishing strong! Here is what we have left; if you have claimed a book but won't be able to finish please let us know ASAP so we can try to find someone to cover it.

Book with Predator in title - Laura
Book with 'South' in text or title - Diana

bamaace83 | 257 comments I just finished a book this afternoon with Day in the title A Hard Day for a Hangover if you want to switch that one out.

Alma (almamm) | 173 comments When is the last day to submit books for the mini??

message 219: by Laura (new)

Laura H | 151 comments Whoot whoot! Looking good, team! February is the short month that seems so long, until the end...

I will finish Predator probably Monday. I can upgrade East to ten with, probably When I'm Gone, Look for Me in the East , but I could read any one book as well for those last few days.

This challenge is so pleasantly oraganized and fun. Reading new authors and more.

message 220: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments The mini ends at the end of February. The start was 9 AM Feb 1, so I suspect that the end is 8:59 Mar 1 UTC. (I will confirm and post countdown when I see one). That would be 4 AM ET, 1 AM PT.

message 221: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Skye - did Extra Innings have the word South in it? Just curious in case I move some things around.

message 222: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments I can squeeze in Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore

message 223: by Becky (new)

Becky (velvetspade) | 62 comments If someone isn't going to finish something on the mini let me know and I'll search out a book. I've got enough time for one more...

Stacey - Unless someone needs help I'm going to read This Woven Kingdom which has a dragon but not on the cover. If you've got one with a dragon on the cover, that's more points.

Also, have a few hours left of Spare (royalty) on my Audible. I can finish it if you need me to but can also just as easily put it off to next month. Let me know ;)

Happy Reading this weekend!

message 224: by Charly (last edited Feb 25, 2023 10:43AM) (new)

Charly Hart (charlyhart) | 212 comments I just finished The Inheritance Games and I have time for one more book too. Let me know if anyone needs any help.

I can read Book of Night by Holly Black for the extra points.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's pouring rain here and all I plan on doing is reading in bed once I get off work today!

message 225: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Becky, please finish Spare. I should be able to finish my book, although I do have some real life stuff going on right now.

Stephanie, we only need one of those two books, who would like to read?

message 226: by Stephie (new)

Stephie | 377 comments I was going to read Midnight for the extra points.

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments Stacey wrote: "Skye - did Extra Innings have the word South in it? Just curious in case I move some things around."

No it didn't. It had southpaw but I don't think that would count.

Will do!!!! I'll get my earbuds now :)

message 229: by Alma (new)

Alma (almamm) | 173 comments I’m done with one of my books and one to go but I might need to change it to get ten points.is there anyone reading something with sunset or twilight on the title?

message 230: by Alma (new)

Alma (almamm) | 173 comments I’ve found a book with sunset on the title which will give us 10 points. I should have plenty time to finish it in two days 😉

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments The snow is melting. We got our once a year snow Friday.
Funny how snow once a year almost shuts the town down.
Bosses went and picked people up who couldn't get to work.
I had no excuse. I live around the corner, so can walk in the snow.

I love the snow, but glad we get to aprriciate it very small doses.

message 232: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments I love snow, too. Shame you couldn't enjoy it with a day off. It can be harder in spots where you rarely get any and there isn't any equipment. We should be getting snow this time of year, but it has been really warm and nice lately.

message 233: by bamaace83 (new)

bamaace83 | 257 comments I know that I can get another book read before the end of the month. What hasn't been claimed yet to get us more bonus points? We didn't get that one good snow this year and that made me sad. I like having it just to stay home from work and have a chill day but it just didn't happen. It still could happen though so crossing fingers but I definitely would want it during the week and not on the weekend.

message 234: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments The most recent update. We have a little over 2 days left.

Claimed, not finished
Book with Sunset or Twilight in text/title - Alma
Royalty -Becky (Alma, I moved your book)

For extra points for title instead of text (10 pts vs the 6 we have)
Book with Night or Midnight in the title instead of text - Stephanie
Book with East or Eastern in title instead of text - Laura?
Book with South or Southern in the title instead of text
Book with Fall or Autumn in title instead of text
Book with West or Western in the title instead of text

And thanks all, this is a great way to finish our first month!

message 235: by Alma (new)

Alma (almamm) | 173 comments Should I cover the tasks for the book which has been moved?is it going to be used in any way or leave it as it is?

message 236: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments Becky’s got the royalty book covered, so feel free to read for something else. Charly and I can move things later if needed, too

message 237: by bamaace83 (new)

bamaace83 | 257 comments I can take the book with Fall in the title.

Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ (surendraskye) | 251 comments I'm not good with the colors.

The Rational Faculty (Hazard and Somerset A Union of Swords, #1) by Gregory Ashe does this count as Red?
It is on the goodreads list M/M Romance With (Mostly) Red Covers

If it counts for red, I'll read it for march.

I think so, but it is close. I'll check with the mods and Charly or I will let you know tomorrow.

message 243: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 610 comments The most recent update. We have a little less than 2 days left. We have finished the main tasks to get 30 bonus completion points. When Becky finishes her book, or if we can rearrange, we can get an additional 10 points
