Excited to share this first list from a CFD Member. This is their list of 2022 and 2023 books they most look forward to reading. There is at least one book that releases in February 2023. For this challenge, it's great to read book(s) during the focus month, but definitely ok to read from this list anytime in 2023.

For those that want to record their reads for this challenge, here's the link for tracking.

Hi Brittany. It is like Forgotten Books/Pick a Title Out of Hat. Each month we'll have a list of 8-10 books provided by a CFD Member. The list will be 2022/2023 releases they are most looking forward to. One list will be shared each month. Ideally, participants will read a book from the list that month, but it's fine to read them anytime in 2023. Just let me know if there are any questions.

Ok, thanks! I thought it seemed similar (although I guess the forgotten books one was about books we wanted to get to from our TBR and this is from soon to be or recently released books). Great idea!

message 8: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 548 comments I will try to read The Cairo Curse (Fredrick & Grace Mystery #2) by Pepper D. Basham , although I am not sure when I will be able to get my hands on a copy. So will read as soon as I can.

I'll read A Texas Christmas Carol by Karen Witemeyer , which I think is a part of Under the Texas Mistletoe A Trio of Christmas Historical Romance Novellas by Karen Witemeyer , which I have in my stacks.

Crystal | 744 comments I thought I posted I'd be participating but I just realized I didn't on this thread. I chose Heirlooms by Sandra Byrd and oh my. Insert all of the emotional emojis! It is so so good. I highly recommend it and am so glad it was recommended for this challenge, or I probably would have passed it by! High five stars for sure.

I finished Elysium Tide Elysium Tide by James R. Hannibal last night, and really enjoyed it.
Also, my hidden gem for this month happens to be The Lost Melody The Lost Melody by Joanna Davidson Politano , so I'll be getting 2 of my 'pick for me' choices in for this month!

Nice job Kate!

message 22: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 548 comments I changed my mind. While I still plan to read The Cairo Curse (A Freddie and Grace Mystery Book 2) by Pepper D. Basham , I don't think I will even have it by the end of January. But I do have A Texas Christmas Carol by Karen Witemeyer and it works for a couple of other challenges that I am doing, too. So that will be my book for January.

message 25: by Karen (new)

Karen | 1329 comments Many thanks to Kate for her wonderful list this minth. I finished A Texas Christmas Carol by Karen Witemeyer- what a wonderful, sweet & inspirational story. The author was new to me but I will be looking to read more by her. This was a quick read but thoroughly enjoyable.

Unfortuately, it will be the only one that I finish this month due to several other challenges I am working this month. However, I have added A Quilt for Christmas, Heirlooms and Elysium Tide to my TBR list.

What a lovely thing to say, Karen; thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book you chose to read this month (Karen Witemeyer's a favourite of mine!), and hope you'll enjoy the others you've put on your TBR list whenever you find time to read them. 😊

Hannah wrote: "I'm curious. how do you ladies add the book in there like that where you can tap on the picture and go straight to the book?"

Hi, Hannah. On desktop version, there is a button called "add book/author" above the comment box. When clicked, it brings up a pop-up window that has options at the bottom for "link" or "cover." Select the "cover" option, then use the search box (still in the pop-up window) to find the book you want. Then click "add" next to the appropriate cover.
