Looks great Laura! I wish my series list was as short as yours, also love that you have the ones with new books coming out this year on there as reminders

oh yeah, my series list is embarrassingly long lol. Good luck on your challenges Laura!

message 7: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I‘m a little OCD with my series but slowly working on Outlander and Sword of truth (which I will finish someday I promise!)

And thank you both!

What did you think of What If?? I read that one last month too! Lol

message 10: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I enjoyed it! It was definitely entertaining! How about you?

I really enjoyed it too! It was fun but also really interesting! I started the second book yesterday. Lol.

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Wow! That's an amazing month. How did you like The City We Became, The Stolen Heir, Hell Bent, Before Coffee Went Cold and Back in a Spell?

message 13: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments @Liliana the sequel is on my list for next month!

@Elena I loved Hell Bent! My first 5 star read of the year!

The City We Became, Before the Coffee went Cold were both solid reads that I also enjoyed a lot!

Back in a Spell was fun, but didn't stand out too much.

The Stolen Heir was quite disappointing for me to be honest - I expected more.

How was Tress?!
Also fabulous looking month

message 15: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I loved Tress!

message 17: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments Wow that was a productive month Laura! How did you find A Day of Fallen Night? And The Sinister Booksellers of Bath? I was kind of on the fence about the first Booksellers book, so I want to know if it's worth reading the sequel!

message 18: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I somehow found it really hard to get into A Day of Fallen Night? And didn’t enjoy it as much as priory (but I seem to be in the minority here)

For Sinister Booksellers, I enjoyed this one but also enjoyed the first book. I’d say if the first one wasn’t your cup of tea this won’t be either!

message 19: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments Ah okay, that's interesting! I liked Priory, but I had some of the same issues as you had with Fallen Night, I found it a little hard to get into at first so that's something I'll keep in mind when reading Fallen Night.
I didn't hate the Left-Handed Booksellers, I liked the concept and the world, I just felt like everything was a little underdeveloped. I will admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator for the audiobook and she also did the sequel so that has me on the fence about reading it.

message 20: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments That makes sense! Keep me posted if you do end up picking up either of them

Storm The Tiny Hooman ~hiatus~ (asherbookreviews) | 23 comments Do you recommend any of these books for a sophomore in highschool

message 22: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I love the monthly update! And actually want to ask about almost all of them :) But will pick the ones I'm more interested in. So how did you like those?
1. A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon
2. Stay a Spell Series
3. The Edens Series
4. Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove
5. Adrian X Isolde Series

message 23: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments @Asher it has a lot of british references so not sure how that translates but I personally really enjoyed The Left Handed booksellers duology - read the second book this month!

@ Elena - feel free to ask about however many you want to!
1. A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon - this was just okay, wouldn't really recommend as I didn't vibe with the characters
2. Stay a Spell Series - these were really fun actually - cute world and characters, if you're in the mood for some light reading would recommend!
3. The Edens Series - my opinions very much varied between the different books - some were alright some I didn't enjoy
4. Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove - I wanted to love this more than I did in the end, not really sure why but didn't 100% vibe with it
5. Adrian X Isolde Series - this honestly felt a lot like Blood and Ash for some reason - still enjoyed them but definitely very reminiscent

Storm The Tiny Hooman ~hiatus~ (asherbookreviews) | 23 comments Thats okay. I will check it out

I will definitely read Fallen Night, but it might be a while-I got the physical book from one of Samantha Shannon's signings but it is so massive and not really practical to read on the go, so I'll be listening to the audiobook, but that's almost 39 hours, so I guess it will depend when I'm ready for that behemoth of a listen!

I'm jealous you have read Happy Place already, how was it?? Any standouts from the month?

message 34: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Honestly I was a little disappointed with happy place - I didn’t really like the MCs and some of the tropes- but I know some other people loved it!

I think Nettle & Bone was my favourite !

message 35: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Aww thats too bad! I'll still listen to it when I can but Ill try to go in with lower expectations then.

Oh! How was Study of Poisons? And Lives of Puppets?

message 36: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Ooo I absolutely loved in the lives of puppets!

Study of poisons was just alright to me though

message 37: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Thats fair, I find those books written in another perspective usually arent as good as I hope.
Lives of Puppets sounds interesting.

message 38: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Yes! Especially since it’s plot you already mostly know just from another POV!

I do highly recommend In the Lives of Puppets!

What'd you think of Babysitter of the Apocalypse? That one sounds interesting!

message 40: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments It was just a short novella but so far interesting! It’s a prequel to an upcoming series!

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
I'm trying Under the Whispering Door currently by the same author but Ill put a hold on Puppets. Not sure of the start of this book, listening to the first chapter was almost painful with how the MC is. I think it should get better now though.

message 42: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments It definitely takes a while to get into but I loved Under the Whispering Door in the end!

Okay! Good to know that it takes a bit, I've cranked the speed for now until I get into it more
