The Reading Frenzy discussion

Welcome to 2023! I think this group improves and grows a bit every year and this year will be no different. We are all looking forward to presenting some new and fun things this year and I want to use this post to share what we currently have in the works.

First, Amanda has officially started her roll as a MOD so you'll start seeing her posts here in the group. We're very excited to have her and look forward to the new ideas she will undoubtedly share with us as we brainstorm challenges and ideas throughout the year.

I've retired the old TBR Game in lieu of a better model, if you will. Wheel of TBR will begin this month and I hope most of you will participate again this year. If you enjoyed it over the last several months then you won't want to miss this year's!

The Buzz Word and Read the Rainbow Challenges will be running again in 2023- I have to update Buzz Words but the colors for the RTR will remain the same as last year. Discussions for these challenges will be found under a folder dedicated solely to them.

Quarterly Book Bingo will also be back this year- I've already got all the prompts ready to go, it's just a matter of getting them onto the bingo board and then I'll post it. You'll be able to find that post under the 2023 General Challenges tab.

Battle of the Books will be running again for the year and Amanda will be hosting it. If you have any questions regarding BotB feel free to message her or any of us MOD's and we will get back to you as quickly as we can. This same thing applies to any and all things group related and BotB can also be found under the 2023 General Challenges tab.

Updates on the Pokemon Challenge are pending- Travis is looking into possibly spicing things up a bit this year. Once I know more I'll share it here in this discussion thread and I'm sure Travis will also share any new info pertaining to the Pokemon challenge as well. If you have any questions in regards to Pokemon I strongly suggest you contact Travis specifically!

Anything you don't see posted yet will be up over the next couple of days- myself and the other MODs run this group in between our (very demanding) day jobs and we sometimes get swamped and have to wait for a day off to get things up. We will always endeavor to be on time as much as possible though and we thank you in advance for your patience!

I know our instagram has been a bit of a dud for the last several months but Amanda is going to bring back the monthly photo challenges and I will begin posting any updates for the group there as well for those of you that follow us over there (@thereadingfrenzygr).

Just like years past we will host some side challenges in addition to our monthly and quarterly challenges randomly over the next twelve months so you can look forward to those extras as well. If any of you have suggestions for the group or ideas of things you'd like to see us do here to make it more fun please contact us. I actually encourage all of our participating members to brainstorm and share anything you come up with- we want to keep the group fresh and interesting. So don't hesitate to contact us!

Will the D&D challenge continue this year? I didn't manage to finish the Snow Campaign due to several months of bad migraines, and I was wondering if the campaigns are just going to roll over into the new year.

Hi Rachel! Sorry for taking so long to respond. We aren’t bringing the D&D Campaigns back this year BUT you can still work on any of the campaigns you want for as long as you want. I’ve moved the discussion thread to the ‘Finished Challenges’ folder which can be found by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the discussions lists on the homepage. If you have any trouble finding it or have any other questions pls let me know!
