She has a cool power so far the whole princess training reminds me a little of The Selection. In fact didn't this book get compared to that and Game of Thrones? I have a feeling that there will be a love square between her Cal Marvin and Evangelina. Who I already can't stand by the way. Also the nickname for a little annoying after a while.

Her power is pretty cool, the fact that she can "create" and not just manipulate elements. I see a love triangle between her and the 2 brothers so I'm interested to see where this goes. I feel as though this is a combo of The Selection mixed with The Hunger Games but nowhere near as good.

I think her power seems really awesome, I can't wait to see hows she uses it! I also see some romance that could possibly coming, I think that would make the book even more enjoyable. I also can't wait to read this big twist everyone is talking about, It's hard to not guess what it would be!

Loving the little lightening girl. I sense a love triangle...oh how I love a good love triangle. I already don't like Evangelina either and can't for Mare to put her in her place

Evangelina is such a good villain. I'm liking Cal a lot. Maven not so much. I agree that it's a cross between the Selection and Hunger Games and it's kind of annoying. I find it hard to believe they would marry her off to the second prince. I figured they would force her to do their bidding.

Cal is bae. I feel so bad for him. I think that the plot is finally picking up, it's not as slow anymore, and I can understand the world a tiny bit more. I love Mare's power and I can't wait for more! But as Christina said, I also find it hard to believe they would marry her off to the second prince like that, considering how the Silvers look down on the Reds. But lets see :)

I'm interested to see how/why she has powers that just showed themselves. Silvers from a young age are able to use their powers so I think the reason she never knew about them will be interesting.

Is it just me or is this book moving SUPER quickly? We've only read 10 chapters but so much has happened to Mare. It's almost hard to keep up! I feel like the plot has progressed so much that there hasn't been much time for character development yet. Because of this, although I'm definitely interested in everything going on, I'm not super invested in these characters.. yet. It's still early. We just don't know Cal or his brother at all.. or anyone. We kind of know Mare though... I don't know. Hopefully we'll learn more about them soon!
I'm excited about her powers! I kept thinking of Zu (from the Darkest Minds trilogy) hehe
I agreed with all of you ^^ that was comparing this to the Selection. I'm not really happy about that, but hopefully as the book continues they will differ more!
I also thought of Throne of Glass when they were talking about the glass palace and seeing through it and everything.. I guess it's a little different though. This one has diamonds and stuff. Excited to read on!
