Play Book Tag discussion

Drift introduces readers to ex-Army criminal investigator Rachel Hatch. Hatch returns to her Colorado hometown to look into the circumstances of her sister's death. There was something about Hatch, her preferred name, that reminded me of Jack Reacher. She's a tough drifter that is happy to finish a fight. It was very action packed and a fast read.

The reason it didn't get four stars from me was because it was very predictable. I thought the motive and killer were easy to figure out. Hatch was a difficult protaganist to understand or sympathsize with. On the plus side, the secondary characters were appealing. The book ends with Hatch determined to follow clues that are connected to her father's suicide.

I found the story and main character to be interesting enough to add the next book in the series, Downburst to my TBR.
