You'll definitely enjoy her books. I've read three books of hers so far and really enjoyed them. Also, the books I've read of hers have been clean in their content, so that's a plus.

Awesome! I have a eye doctor appointment in town next week, maybe I’ll see if mom will take me to the library than. Since we’ll be in town anyways. I also can’t be in town too long then since I have to go to work not long after my appointment. Idk. I also have a ton of books here at home to read so I should just be patient and keep getting through the ones I’ve got. 😔🙃😂

They are so good!!! I've read the first two and a few in the middle of the series. This year I decided to try and finish all of them 🤭

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 6907 comments Mod
Yeah I don’t think I actually ever read the whole series, I read the first half so fast that it burned me out and then I got really bored with The Outcast of Redwall and I haven’t read them since. I’m planning on reading the whole series this summer tho since I’ll be able to go to the library then and our library has the entire series.

I always have to be in the right mood to read them lol! But they are really timeless!

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 6907 comments Mod
Yeah. I really burned myself out on them tho since that’s all I read for a while. And I was just reading through them so fast it became too much. Lol I think both my brothers finished the series tho.

message 127: by ✧Bella✧ (new)

✧Bella✧ | 6756 comments I'm currently 7 chapters away from finishing Rule of Wolves, re-reading Dare, reading Catching Fire aloud to my mom, and listening to Between Floors. Still haven't made any progress on Exiles, but I will definitely finish it at some point. The problem is, I found Daniel's chapters a lot more interesting, so I kind of looked ahead, and now I know what's going to happen, on top of having way too many library books. But I own the entire series (minus the novellas), so maybe I'll not only finish Exiles, but read the other two this year. Who knows?

message 130: by Kacie (new)

@Becky, if you have a hard time getting into Kingdom’s Dawn like my family did, the Knights of Arethtrae (probably spelling that wrong) are wonderful. Same author, same world as the Kingdom’s Dawn series.

This is like my childhood. LOL I had every single Mandie book ever, most of the Anne books, I LOVED the Secret Garden (read it with my youngest recently and she loved it too) and I had multiple Sherlock Holmes books. Add Boxcar Children, Hardy Boys, "The Bronze Bow", "Little Women", "A Little Princess," and "A Tale of Two Cities" and you'd have the books I kept on repeat on my shelf from like age 8-14. I still love those books.

I'll look into that too. We don't mind a slow burn most of the time so it might be okay. :)

✧Bella✧ | 6756 comments I'm currently doing buddy reads of The Secret Garden and the Mandie books, the Mandie books being a reread. (finished Madie and the Secret Tunnel last night), rereading Rilla of Ingleside (my fav Anne book), listening to Between Homes (the fifth City Between book), and reading Serpent and Dove. Also, Exiles (the fourth Ilyon Chronicles book) has been on pause for several months now, but I know how it ends because I looked ahead. (I blame Daniel for being the best character AND having the most interesting chapters, lol)

message 143: by Emily (new)

Emily Reed The books I am currently reading are:
- Because I could not Stop for Death
- The Sweetness of Forgetting
- Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm (A New English Version)

- Greek and Roman Folklore

Haha that's awesome! I've read all of those except A Tale of Two Cities. And they're all ones I loved. Especially Anne of Green Gables series, Secret Garden, Bronze Bow, and Little Women. I kinda got burned out on the Hardy Boys but I still feel like reading them every now and then. And I love the first 19 Boxcar children books but after that I don't really like them. lol

I used to LOVE A Little Princess, Little Women The Boxcar Children, and Anne of Green Gables. They were like my Fav when I was little. I still do love them in a way well, except for The Boxcar Children maybe, but I haven't read one in so long. The Anne books are prob my favorite of them now, although they weren't back then. I only just read A Tale of Two Cities a few years ago for school. I've never read The Bronze Bow or Sherlock Holmes, although I do plan on reading the latter eventually.
