Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim hugged her backpack against her chest more to make her feel comfortable on the bus than actual fear of it being taken from her when it finally screech to a halt, she disembarked thanking the bus driver. He mumbled something about a girl being alone in this part of the area was not a good idea, she just ignored him and stepped off. It was the same thing in every town she would go to the worst areas try and find a place to live on the streets and see what she could do to make some kind of ends meet for helping anyone she could. .

It was the only thing they gave her purpose in life. Helping people actually meant something to her and with a life there have been pretty much meaningless to now, and at least gave her a sense of direction to go instead of doing nothing and wasting away. As she walked down the street, her backpack thrown over one shoulder she heard a woman begging for medicine money for her sick child that was in her arms, coughing and sneezing, Kim had a knack for knowing when people were lying at least average people. Some people were much better at hiding it, this woman wasn’t lying, and even though she only had 20 bucks to her name, she stopped and handed it to her walking away as the woman thanked her. “ great so much for dinner…”

She had left the last town because of the law, apparently doing good deeds was frowned upon if you had powers, and we’re different, it would probably be the same story here, but it couldn’t be helped. What else with someone like her supposed to do with their life. ?

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Ari Santos, a woman with a reputation. She was known very well though out this part of town. She was somewhat of a vigilante or an anti-hero. She didn’t like normal Heros and didn’t like villians. Just as long as you stayed off her turf, you were ok with her. She sat in the edge of one the higher buildings, looking down at the street. She watched as girl got off a bus and started walking. She frowned, new people were uncommon, and usually the were up to something.
Ari stood up and put on her gauntlets, then headed down the stairs of the building.

message 21: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim probably should’ve asked the woman who appeared homeless were a good place to sleep, was at the same time she didn’t like sleeping around people she didn’t know which was everyone. She looked to see if there was some kind of parkour nature around the city she could sleep in a tree until some cops found her and chased her off.

Then she heard a shout, but it came from behind her, and not only was a woman being mugged. It was the woman she had just given money to the man took off, laughing, a nice glinting in his hand as he turned quickly down an alley. Eyes narrowing she darted after him.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

There was a loud thud from behind Kimberly. Ari had come down, just in time to stop the mugger. She had shoved him against the wall. “Look, bastard,” she said, “I don’t know who the hell you think you are, but you’re in my city.” She pressed on his chest with one hand. “Hand the shit over before I make it so you cant breath.” Ari pressed harder. She was being a little harsh for the situation, but then again, she was the only one with authority here and she made the rules.

message 23: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim froze, not far away from what was happening. She could see the terror on the mans face and the ferocity on the woman’s. Sure she wanted to take down the mugger but, she was being scary.

The mugger groaned in pain. “I-I’m sorry.” He pled offering the money he had stolen as an apology. Sweat forming on his brow.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

He plucked it from his hands and threw him to the ground. “This is my city, watch it.” She said, walked back and giving the money back to the woman. She saw Kimberly standing there. “You’re knew.” She said, clenching a fist.

message 25: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim stood a little bit shocked, and intimidated. “Yeah, just arrived.” She clenched fists at her side protectively, but also in preparation she wasn’t sure if this person was going to attack her or not she just seemed way too aggressive.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

“Im Ari.” She said, “Ari Santos, I’m the.. boss of this place.” Ari leaned over slightly to look into Kim’s eyes. “So just be careful, right?”

message 27: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments “Kim Guardian.” She introduced herself back “I always do“ couldn’t tell if this was a genuine warning or an actual threat. She already didn’t like this person one bit. When she called herself, a boss sounded more like a crime boss but then why would shit stop the mugging? I didn’t make any sense. Needless to say she wasn’t going to back down and she certainly wasn’t gonna turn her back on her from what she learned about the city, it was full of corruption, the impoverished and crime perfect place to get killed, or to make a killing if you worked for the right people. What kind of place in justice thrived and she wouldn’t mind lending a hand to some people and maybe out of kindness she might get offered some food..

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Ari was a crime boss, but the people didn’t know that. She only allowed organized crime, crime that made her money. And mugging didn’t do that. Ari smiled at her. “Well, good,” Her face went kind of dark, “Cause I don’t allow any shit from anyone here,” She smiled again. “Got it?”

message 29: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments And now she knew she was being threatened. There was this other side of her, that she usually kept hidden, the temperamental side. Basically, the wolf side, the creature that would bite someone’s head off when feeling threatened she did her best to repress that side. “Well have a nice night“ she still in turn her back on her, but instead, just smiled sweetly, trying to look innocent.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Ari put a hand on Kim shoulder, she had a firm grip. “It’s not safe out here, I know somewhere you can stay.” It was hard to tell if she was threatening Kim or if she was trying to protect her.

message 31: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim I tried to read the woman, but it seemed impossible. This time she could’ve been off more than she could chew with coming to such a dangerous city at the same time. She wasn’t sure if she should trust this woman it could be some sort of trap, a way to kidnap people or kill them, all that she had anything of value on her to steal. Maybe she could pretend play along and then bail out. “Yeah, I get that feeling…” she answered honestly. “Where would that be?” Then again what if this was a lead that could help her have a safe place to stay before she figured out her next steps?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

“There’s and apartment building just around the corner. You got any money, kid?” She asked, leading Kim down the street.

message 33: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments She decided to follow with no objection, but was still on guard. “No, I was hoping to find some work.” Was a strange thing for someone her age to say because more than likely no one wanna hire them, but people would be surprised what you could find if you looked hard enough.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

“Ooh, I have plenty of work.” She said. “Like I said, I’m kind of like the boss, so I can find you work easily.”

message 35: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments A nee idea occurred, people usually underestimated her because of her age, and how she acted. Perhaps she could use people underestimating her here to her advantage. “Really? What kind of work?” She did her best to sound excited and look curious, will secretly squirming in the pit of her stomach. She could be doing something very stupid right now.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

She loosened her grip. “I can’t tell you now, but if you want some good work, meet me at,” She gave an address, “At noon tomorrow.” They reached the building. “Room 232, go on up.” She said.

message 37: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments She had a sick feeling in her stomach, but ignored it. The idea of actually having a roof over her head was appealing, and if she was cautious enough, no one should be able to hurt her. She just had to be smart. “Thanks, I’ll see you then.“ She made a mental note of the address, that sick feeling rising but again, she did her best to ignore it and head up into the building, hoping and praying it wasn’t some sort of trap or something.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

The next day, Ari waited outside of the address she had given. She had beat a few people on the way there and probably killed a guy. She’d get someone to take care of that later though. He gauntlet, which she was now holding in either hand, hand blood on them from the beating.

message 39: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim was surprised that the place was indeed safe to sleep that she had tried to stay up for a long time being care cautious and pretending to be asleep but eventually she did fall asleep and she was still alive to tell the tale. She didn’t know if she was lucky or maybe she was reading this person wrong maybe they were just incredibly protective? However, when she arrived and could see blood on the strange gauntlet, the person had she missed a step, stumbling slightly, but not falling “you OK?” She wasn’t sure how to respond wasn’t like she hadn’t gotten blood on her clothes either but… She would’ve cleaned it off before meeting with someone….

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

“Oh, sure, he might not be though.” She said as two men came out of the building. “Where’s it at boss?” They asked. “Just down this street, make sure there’s no mess.” She said.
She turned to Kim. “Alright, come inside, we’ll talk in there.”

message 41: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim’s insides were turning knots now. That little voice in the back of her brain was saying get the heck out of here and get to a different city, but she didn’t have money for a bus she didn’t even have food. In fact, she was starving right now she didn’t eat and anything last night and had only had an apple. She swiped off the garden tree the day prior so listening more to her stomach then her head she followed.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

“We’ve got plenty of food in here.” Ari said, leading Kim inside. “Feel free to have some.” She went into a larger kitchen area, there wasn’t actually that much food, it was probably a lot for where they were though. “Grab some and let’s go.”

message 43: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments You didn’t have to tell her twice. She quickly grabbed a piece of bread and a banana and hurry down after her. This is more than she expected so she was grateful for it. “Thanks.” she said, mouth slightly full of food that she didn’t even bother to think could’ve possibly been tampered with.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

She chuckled. “Of course.” She said, although if Kim ended up working, Ari would take a few dollars off of her pay. She was greedy and very money hungry. Which why she didn’t help the poor people on the streets unless they showed they had something to offer. She never handed out money, and never took money she didn’t think was rightfully hers.
She took Kim up to a small office and sat down behind a desk. “So, you want work..” She said, setting the gauntlets down by the desk.

message 45: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim finished scarfing down the food and rolled up the banana peel and stuck it in her pocket so she didn’t see a trashcan handy and she wasn’t the type to be a slob. Seeing her sit at the desk because she straightened up a little bit feeling like she was at an interview of some sort. “Yeah…” she seemed a little hesitant sort of afraid what sort of ‘job’ she would be asked to do. She has done quite a few different types of jobs in a lot of different places. Some were very unpleasant, like the time she had to work in the sewer. Just the thought made her shudder.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

This job would be much worse. “You see, I have a reputation to up hold, but I also have work that needs done. But I can’t keep my city safe and make money.” It was a disgusting way to use the word ‘safe.’ “I think you have the potential to help with that. I need you to be my assistant. I have very dirty work and I already have enough blood on my hands.” Her face grew cold. “I have a.. friend, he hasn’t been paying me what he owes.” She stared into Kim’s eyes. “I’ll give you the info, and you will kill him.” She stood. “And, now that you know this, there’s no backing out..”

message 47: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments The blood drained from her face and she felt like she might pass out from how light headed she got. “What? I-I… kill?!” Well there was no way she could do that she had never killed anyone before and why were they wanting to kill this person? No, that was wrong and it made no sense and… Her throat tightened the statement at the end about there’s no backing out now did that mean she would kill her if she didn’t agree to do this? And she was inside this person’s building… maybe she can make a run for it escape get out of a crazy town like this! She came to help people not kill people!

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Ari walked around and stood behind Kim. She put her hands on the chair and leaned down to whisper in her ear. “I’ll provide everything needed to do the job.” She said, moving her hands to Kim’s shoulders. He hands were soft, and the way she spoke was somewhat soothing. “Don’t worry about the details, just do the job and you’ll be rewarded. In more ways than one, if you want, of course.”

message 49: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Brown (guardianwolfkim) | 114 comments Kim’s heart pounding against her rib cage so violently she worried they might break, there’s no way she could do this! The woman invading her personal space made her feel even more like a trapped animal. oh, it was strange, how soothing her voice sounded in the moment. The hairs on the back of her neck begin to stand on edge. “You don’t even know me, what makes you think I’m even capable of doing something like that?“ Maybe she could talk her out of this insane plan, if not, she would have to find someway to trick her or something there’s just no way she could kill someone. Maybe if someone is really a bad person who was a murderer themselves then she might be able to even consider crossing the line, but…

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Ari put a hand to Kim’s face and slipped a finger between her lips, feeling the canines. “That’s how I know you can do it.” She knew about Kim’s powers somehow. She cupped Kim’s face with both hands. This woman was fucking insane. “Just do your best, it’s your first time so I don’t have high hopes.”
