Introduction of Poirot was fascinating, and he deuces emotions of people around him at dinner.
Can tell this will be a fun novel.

I'm actually reading a newer edition than the one pictured here that has "Soon to be a Major Motion Picture" on the cover. I really didn't like that part either. I think that Linnet is cold-hearted and I didn't like Linnet moving people out of their homes and not caring about people's feelings like you said.
I also find Poirot a very interesting detective. I wanted to find out more about the case that involved M. Blondin.
I think it's going to be a fun book too.
This isn't the cover on mine either. It just came up when I was looking for one on GR so I took it.
Poirot is methodical and has incite to the criminal mind.
To me Linnet is very selfish and thinks she superior to everyone else.

I totally agree with everything you said, Sheri.

Perhaps most ominous of all the jilted lover, Jacqueline follows them on to the boat to the Nile.

I agree Alexw. Poirot is extremely astute in figuring people out and eventually will figure out their motives.
I love this quote "Hercule Poirot warns Jackie ''Do not open your heart to evil'' because ''if you do, evil will come...It will enter in and make its home within you, and after a little while it will no longer be possible to drive it out.''

Evidently Jackie is still on board when the boulder comes down so she couldn't have pushed it BUT from Simon's comment it appears that he "thinks" there's a possibility that she will try to kill Linnett. If I were Jackie I'd want to get off that ship and as far away from Linnett as possible.
I'm into chapter 13 and don't want to say too much.

A lot of times in a murder mystery the murder happens close to the beginning. I think we get to know more about the characters when it's a little later in the book.

Did you figure out who was the culprit?

I truly enjoyed our buddy read as your comments further enhanced the magic of reading this great novel. Thanks !
I enjoyed the writing style and like that Poroit’s idiosyncrasies, while being pointed out, are accepted as part of his nature and personality. I like the Miss Marple stories too but Poirot is just so cool.
