The protagonist of this novel is K. Although K is short for a another name, the character is not telling you his true name. K is an excellent gamer, having played the original arcade games, fantasy board games, and progressing to contemporary challenging amusements.

Rumored among the gaming afficiados is a "strange and dangerous secret game" which may be integrated underneath our perceived reality. It reboots itself after each win which have been limited to only a few. Those who play the game may not even know they are playing the game as they notice conincidences and discrepancies in reality.

K, and his best friend Chloe, spend much of this novel leaning as much as they can about the clandestine game while searching for clues. A reclusive billionaire, and rumored former winner of the game, has approached K for his assistance. Something is wrong with Rabbits and must be fixed before it reboots. Failure to do so may result in reality cataclysmic consequences.

Although not a gamer, I found this book entertaining even if it meandered a bit. If you are a fan of books like Ready Player One, you might enjoy this one.
