In the tune-up races (Grandma's Marathon), task: read three series books. Do I assume correctly those have no page limit and a series book with less than 100 pages will work?

What would you consider "an expo"?

Race expo - most marathons have a large expo where lots of running gear is sold - read a book where a character goes to or works at an expo.

An expo is like a large (usually) indoor market specific to a certain kind of event. So marathon expos will have vendors in booths selling shoes, socks, watches, water bottles and all kinds of other gear - plus there will be booths promoting other events, training coaches, really anything marathon related. I'm pretty sure there are large expo-like events in other industries. Like my brother who is a marine contractor and goes to an enormous boat show in Seattle for one week each year. That would count as an expo too.

So when we totally Complete the race (including last Task & Dice roll), do we just choose the next one we want to do??

After the last die roll task is complete I post a celebratory pic but then yes, you can start a new race!

I read a quick book last week that did not satisfy my task of new shoes, BUT does qualify in the task I was just sent the 5K. Can I use the book that I read on April 15?

2. dinner - read a book where the MC cooks or eats a lot of pasta. Do you want anyone who cooks (Chef, Baker, Cook at a diner). Or specifically cooks a lot of pasta.

Ok for pasta dinner, I have a book where MC1 daughter is going through Chemo to treat her leukemia, the only food her body can handle is the homemade macaroni and cheese that their neighbor and MC2 cooks. Would that work?

No, sorry. An expo is a pretty huge event generally, with large companies typically as vendors. Craft fairs opens the door to just too much, as the vendors are frequently individuals selling homemade items.

Sorry - I should have been clearer. I meant a cook who specifically cooks a lot of pasta.

Not really. Think more of a world fair or state fair or even a regional 4H club event. My husband says In the Days of the Comet is a fairly quick read that takes place largely in The Crystal Palace, a permanent fair in London that ran for many years.

Yes, from what I understand of those it would work.

Thank trying to keep my book spending down, fixed income even with KU make getting books I don't already own challenging, add in I am mainly a MM reader more limited market.

There is no page limit unless specified for specific training runs or tune-up races.

If I start reading books to spell Scraped Knees but then find a book where MC is badly injured can I discontinue spelling words and use that book to satisfy the challenge?

Absolutely! Many people do exactly that.

My challenge is Scraped Knees or book where MC is seriously injured.

I am reading Me Before You by Jojo Meyers. One of the MC (Will) was hit struck by a vehicle and became quadriplegic in the Prologue. Will this satisfy the challenge/task?

Absolutely!! And, you will LOVE that book. I read it a few months ago.

A clothes hound
1. Is it someone who owns a lot of clothes and still buys more and more or does it mean something different?

2. Should my understanding be correct would an In Death book work?
Eve mentions regularly about her husband’s number of clothes and complains at least as often he buys too much clothing for her or she finds stuff in her walk closet she’s convinced she’s never seen before. Technically she’s the MC but he has such an active role in all her cases after book 1 some of those she wouldn’t solve without his help or resources.

2a) Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts female MC’s family owns a pizza place - I looked up pasta, penne & spaghetti and got 22 results all referring to cooking, serving or eating those
2b) Murder al Dente by Jennifer L. Hart MC works in her family’s pasta restaurant (as chef) so I assume she cooks a lot of pasta :-D

I think the 1b book definitely works. The 1a option might but I can't tell if Knox actually goes to an expo or not from the description (although it sounds as if he may since he's preparing for one - but he has to actually attend one. So I'd stick with the book fair which is a form of expo.
Both 2a and 2b look like winners.

I am currently reading Things I Wish I Told My Mother: The Perfect Mother-Daughter Summer Read I think it may fit into two task. Just want to verify...

Clothes Hound They go to Paris mother is obsessed with shopping and buying clothes. Concerned with what her daughter wears and what she wears.

Daily Routine Mentions her nighttime ritual and morning ritual...so far only mentioned once.

Just checking great book so far about 25% into it.

It definitely works for the clothes hound, and is probably okay for the ritual too - but you have to decide which task to assign it to...

Anyway, I have at least two books for each task (in case any one of the doesn’t work out) so I’m confident enough to go forward.

I am reading The Supreme Macaroni…it is about Italian families who run a shoe making company. They eat pasta dishes at all their get togethers. She purchased a building which used to made pasta but now it is making shoes the shoes of named from pasta…rigatoni, linguine, and the factory’s name is The Supreme Macaroni.

Will this satisfy the task of MC eating or making pasta?

For the task: read a book where a character has bodily control issues would a book work where someone can’t move (but is fully cognizant) because of a drug (either slipped or taken consensually)?
